Extra friendly service, authentic mexican menu, great food. Found this place by accident while looking for a different restaurant, but now will be coming back to this one for sure!

We were on our way home and decided to pop in for breakfast. The place is very clean, quiet, and inviting. Cindy was our server and she too was very nice and friendly. I lived for ten years in Mexico so I'd like to say that I know good Mexican food. At other Mexican restaurants, I usually get Huevos Rancheros... More

A year ago we drove past this restaurant several times and noticed the signs for $1.00 tacos. We decided to try it and had a wonderful meal. We returned several times for other great values on the menu. On one occasion the owner served us and told us about is restaurant. Once again we were in the area and took... More

Met Victor the owner. Extremely accommodating. Gave us sample of his Margaritas. Killer Margaritas - huge and rimmed with a slice of orange & chili flakes.... awesome! Don't miss out on trying Victor's spicy tequilla. So we decided to stay for lunch after stopping to just see the menu. Homemade corn & flour tortillas. Best Mole we have had! Guacamole... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Desert Cities near Palm Springs. My favorite dish here is the tostada ceviche. It is a small but filling portion of uncooked lime soaked shrimp and other seafood. It's placed on a crispy corn tortilla. The flavor is crisp, with lot's of lime. I suggest a few drops of Tapato on... More

Just got home from a very filling dinner at El Portal. The service was great and the food was even better. Excellent food and very friendly service. The owner waited on us and was very accommodating. Excellent food and lots of it. We will be going back, probably tomorrow. You won't be sorry if you give this place a try.

El Portal is a cute, clean restaurant. There is usually a person with a sign on Date Palm twirling the specials (like tacos $1.00). Victor the owner is very nice - I almost want to come back just to support him. I ordered the nachos. The chicken was in a sauce that made all the chips soggy. I had to... More

There are two things that brought us back multiple times during our 4 day stay in Palm Springs: the great food and Victor, the owner. I had fresh spinach and shrimp enchiladas and they were delicious and unique. My husband had the shrimp quesadillas and they were just as we had gotten in Cabo. Victor is so friendly and helpful,...
