Michael's Cafe is a hidden gem in the Coachella Valley. It's a small restaurant with tons of Marylin Monroe decor and Elvis too. The portions are big and I've never had a bad meal there. The service is great. They service breakfast and lunch, and would recommend both. Once you've been to Michael's Cafe, you will have to return to... More

Based on the reviews, we were somewhat disappointed. Two of us had breakfast -- pancakes passable, eggs OK, bacon reheated (barely) - not fresh cooked. One had chinese chicken salad, which was fine. Ice tea was extremely weak. Overall, not special by any means based on our visit. We might go back if in the area but not likely to... More

This small restaurant in a basically defunct strip mall is a gem. Crowded from opening to close at 2 pm each day. Superb food in pleasant surroundings and very friendly service. A great value. Have had both breakfasts and lunch--incredible tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches as well as burgers and corned beef. Try it, you'll go back.

When you approach and enter the restaurant, it smells grease. When meals arrive, it feels you are eating just that: grease. Service is not too friendly. At least not on the day we were there. Nope. Thank you. I will not go back.

We feel like we are definitely treating ourselves when we eat here! The restaurant is full of Marilyn Monroe pictures (you almost think she may pop out at any minute!), the service is fast and friendly, the restaurant is kept very clean, and the specials are delicious. You get plenty of food, and the prices are pretty reasonable for the... More

We stopped by for a quick lunch. Nice, clean, friendly diner type of place. Good food and service. I had a Reuben, I ask for pastrami but my server suggested the corned beef and she was right, it was great. I like that they have pure horseradish. My friend had the club and it was loaded with turkey and bacon.... More

We love this little gem! It's very popular with locals and regulars (Irvine, CA) like us. I love the Marilyn Monroe decor, I'm such a huge fan! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is very delicious, whether its scrambled eggs with diced ham or my husband's favorite, Egg's Benedict for breakfast or sandwiches and hamburgers for lunch.... More

The atmosphere and the decor is that of a real diner complete with counter service. The service was attentive and very good. The food was excellent diner fare. We really enjoyed this fun little place.

Michael's is really basic and really popular with locals. Serving breakfast and lunch only, it does a lively business with standard diner-like fare. The service is friendly and effecient. There are a few tables outside with a view of a strip mall parking lot on Date Palm at Gerald Ford. The hamburgers are great. Cooked exactly the way we asked... More

Every year when I come down my first breakfast stop in here for #6. My wife and I go there regularly and have never been disappointed.
