The Central Texan BBQ has THE BEST BBQ I've ever had, and believe me when I say that I've had some outstanding BBQ at the American Royal in Kansas City. The Central Texan BBQ's meats are tender, tasty and plentiful. The meat is absolutely mouth-watering when paired with the onions and pickles, and the beans have a delicate taste that... More

I'm a big fan of barbecue, so when I travelled to the states on business I checked out the restaurants in advance. I got a good feeling when I saw a '64 Chevy Impala parked outside on Google maps. What can I say - the place is amazing. The building is incredible, rustic and authentic, and decorated with the owners... More

The owner was there. Ribs were wonderful. Had the Senior special. Yum! Partner had the sausage MADE FROM BRISKET ! Definitely pro and amazing barbecue here. Huge servings, too. Took leftovers home and made a big soup!

Ate there several times. Started going when Don first opened in the old smaller location across the street. Great BBQ. After moving to the new location the BBQ is still good but not the same as when he was in the old place using the old pit

Our experience with Central Texan BBQ was interestingly bad. The meat was old and tough, the sauces pretty much what you can buy in the grocery store, and it's always been amazing how they stayed in business (this was a couple years back). It's possible they've made a 180-degree turn, but that's what it needed when we went there.

Our friend was driving an d turned off the main road and into Castroville. Why..to take us to this classic well known eating place on the main street. Quite easy to find. Very rustic end straw on the floor adds to the very very casual atmosphere. Owner (Willie look alike) was not there on Monday, and his son was very... More

Delicious home cooked barbecue in a rustic atmosphere. Ron and I have been coming here for many, many years - back to the days when the restaurant was in the tiny shop across the street. We always get the tri-tip by the pound with beans. I love to take it all home to eat because the restaurant itself is kind... More

The Central Texan is a nice change of pace in a land filled with (appropriately) California cuisine. I always get either (or all) the turkey, brisket, or pork shoulder. The food is always hot and made to consistent standards over the past 13 years I've enjoyed this place. It's not super cheap, but that's the cost of good BBQ. The... More

I'd not been there in many, many years. I treated my son and his family to dinner and was disappointed.2 people were texting and seemed more interested in the texting then our dining experience! The flavor was good, however cold and prices were a bit high. It was 2 hours before closing, maybe it would be a better experience earlier... More
