Just like you remember it from way back when. Slightly stinky in an okay kinda way with cheeses, salamis and various foodstuffs hanging around. Soups change daily and are always great. Sandwiches can't be beat. A little on the pricey side for a spot that only had a few tables between the groceries, but the taste makes it worth it.... More

It seems like Lucca Deli is never open for business. When you finally find the place open, the service is very poor. The employees are rude, discourteous and impatient. I knew the original owner, this deli used to be a great place to patronize. Sadly, no more

Truly a great deli in the old fashion style. Great meats and even frozen meals to go. Hard to find anywhere that prep airs a fresh deli sandwich like this place. You can call in your order ahead of time (give them 20 minutes) and it will be waiting for you. Some table to eat at if you wish to... More

Was disappointed that they moved from San Leandro to Castro Valley years ago but still very much worth the drive. Best potato salad eaten outside if home, fresh bread, sandwich made to order and not skimpy. Salami, Swiss and avocado! Wish I was in CA right now!

We were off to see Paul McCartney for the final event at 'The Stick. Called ahead and order 4 sandwiches. They were ready when I arrived. We tailgated before the concert. Everyone enjoyed their sandwich of choice, made to perfection as ordered. Great prices, too. Thanks so much.

I've been going to Lucca's since 1975, so it's a comfortable, familiar place for me. Our whole family has "Lucca's cravings" now & then. They have great sandwiches & don't miss the deli case gems such as their potato salad. I recently discovered that their freezer has some awesome meals ready to cook, such as lasagna. I always keep at... More

My mom & I made a trip here during Easter weekend while visiting family in the Bay Area. It was packed! Bring your patience. It was well worth it. At an average of $5.50 for a huge sandwich the value is incredible. We also picked up salami and cheese to take home. Delicious!

This place even tho old, has the best sandwiches in town. Very thick sandwiches. Might wanna sit outside, inside is not the best atmosphere..

Phone in your order if it's around lunch time, as the line often gets to be 20 minutes or so. Definitely worth the wait though. Freshly baked bread, and all the meats / cheeses / condiments are fresh and tasty. See for yourself, this is the best deli around! Gotta love family owned businesses as well.

Stopped by to have 4 sandwiches made to go on a Sunday afternoon. As usual all 4 were excellent and made to perfection. Keep up the good tradition.
