Best steaks!!!!

My in laws live in Lompoc and every imp we visit this is our go to spot!!! Always constant with great Santa Maria style steaks. The rub they use on their meats is so tasty not to mention the way they grill everything. Your dinner includes a chilled veggie tray great to snack on while waiting for... read more

The service was incredible! Our drinks were never empty. Not once! They offer homemade dressings and fries. I ordered the half slab of ribs. The taste was great but they were not tender at all. So we were not too impressed with my meal, however, my husband ordered the chicken. Now that was AMAZING! We both agreed that it was... More

I would still love to return to this place again. The other reviewers were correct in their statements of fair sides and locals atmosphere. But despite the price, the steaks can't be beat and the wine just highlights the experience of being among the "locals". I returned here on a getaway with my wife after 5 years of being away.... I remembered the hitching post to be much better in every aspect. The food is WAY over prices and the seroundings far to load. The service was kind but in less ur white or look like u got money people seem to stair like u dont belong there. I WILL NOT be returning and if ur smart u would head... More

We love the Casmalia location of the Hitching Post. It's a longer drive but it's less crowded and more quaint than Buellton. The service is fantastic and the steaks are the best. Always have to get the grilled artichoke, otherwise you are missing out. The wine choices are also fantastic. Well worth the drive.

December 30 was my second ever trip to The Hitching Post after a first visit in September. I remembered it being good, but it was better the second time around. I don't know if it was because of other first timers along for the fun or what, but everything about it seemed better. Maybe it was the dry martini? The... More

Great wine and even better steak. Funny, the salad and sides were not great at all. The vegetables seemed like they were jolly green giant frozen and boiled. But that said, loved, loved my meal, because I was there for the meat and wine.

You will drive and drive out to the middle of nowhere, but be prepared for the best meal you've ever had. This is not modern fusion yuppie, food. This is real cowboy steaks. The place is not fancy at all, but has a certain ambiance anyway. Don't be shy about accepting a table in the back by the kitchen. These... More

Friends who live in the area know this place well. We, of course, heard of it from the film, Sideways. This is a different location, same chain. Very homey decor--nothing fancy. A very cute outdoor area with garden art and a koi pond. But that's not why you come here. You come for the steaks, grilled over an oak fire.... More
