Lemon-chicken sausage!

The food was exceptional! The service was fast. The decor could use some help, but otherwise we loved our breakfast here!

Smack-dab in downtown Carpinteria - Cajun Kitchen serves up the regular breakfast fare as well as Creole faves. Grits, blackened shrimp omelets, beignets dusted with powdered sugar - good sandwich and salad menu - and lots of other goodies!

We like this place so much that we end up adding 40+ miles to our trip from home to SoCal (and back!) just to stop at this restaurant (and take advantage of the beach for a rest stop). We seem to be luckier with crowds there than are others. There were only 4 customers on Tuesday around 11:15. We stopped... More

I was really surprised that a restaurant in California could make gumbo and étouffée and really get it right! This place has delicious food. Paninis are big and very, very good. Great food at a great price. Great staff.

We went for Breakfast as a family. We did not test the Cajun food but more classical breakfast food. Good service, good and tasty food, good price.

After receiving recommendations from many of the "locals" we tried this place and we were not disappointed. Excellent service, nice location, and prices were family friendly. We went back a second time during our short visit to Carpinteria or "Carp" as the locals call it. We were there for breakfast both times.

Some of the reviews claim this isn't Cajun food. I haven't been to New Orleans, so I can't say whether it is Cajun or not. But, the food was good and reasonably priced. The beignets were excellent. The spicy sausage and biscuits and gravy were just as great. I have only had breakfast here, but if you are looking for... More
