Breakfast on Linden, Carpinteria

The Santa Barbara location had been one of our faves for bfast for years. When it closed down our only choice was to go down the highway a few miles to Carpinteria. It's the same menu and we actually saw one of our original SB waitresses which was nice. Pasilla Chile omelette is our favorite, now... read more

Place looked dirty with tables not cleaned up. Ordered lunch. Mistake. The foot was horrible. I had a Patti melt and my wife had a BLT. Food was greezy and had a fowl taste likely resulting from over used deep fry grease. I ordered onion rings and they were terrible. Maybe breakfast, but stay away from lunch. Sorry

Usually, I research ahead if time here we are going to eat and sleep on a road trip. I didn't for our lunch break on today's drive from Paso Robles to L.A. We didn't feel like stopping in St. Barbara, but pulled out a little later in Carpinteria. Meandering down the center of the little town, Esau's place looked inviting,... More

They serve big breakfasts and have many to chose from! We like the crunchy French toast, the Arti's Verde enchiladas with eggs and their breakfast burritos are yummy. Good value.

We have visited twice now from out of town and actually drove way out of our way the second time to eat there. Very casual, beachy, off the wall kind of place with very good food and friendly service. I highly recommend it.

Tasty food, pretty good service. Huge portions of food, which seems to be the norm in US! Traditional American diner fit out where you seat yourself. Location close to the beach.

I visited ESAUS cafe just a few days ago. Because it was an old establishment and looked good from the outside. I ordered a breakfast with a squid steak and egg. I asked the waitress for a piece of pancake instead of muffin or bagel. She has not inform me for the additional charge. Long story short, the waitress was... More
