The grilled artichokes and fresh local caught abalone were amazing. Service is quick and the place is packed on a Saturday night.

Consistently great food, although service can be hit and miss if really busy. This is a very popular restaurant with a large menu offer wonderful variety and options.

Wasn't crowded for lunch on a Saturday. I thought the menu was too sparse. Was looking for fish and chips, or fried clams, which they didn't have. My wife liked the mussels in wine sauce, and the service was very good, so I give it a 4, but not quite a 5.

Went on a Wednesday night with my cousin. The meat was perfectly cooked, but we had three complaints. First, we were among the first in, and the hostess tried to seat us at the crappiest table in the place; my seat sat facing the two doors of the bathrooms. I requested we not sit there as I didn't want to... More

Overpriced, good quality red meat. Over priced wine list. Little finesse in the menu. Diner quality bar area. Have been twice.

A great place to eat, but VERY pricey. My wife and I visited while on a romantic get away, and it with drinks our tab was $150 plus tip. The Peppered Steak ($49) was great, but comes a la carte; so we got Mac n cheese ($10), scalloped potatoes ($10) to share. My wife's Rosemary chicken ($24) was "okay" but... More

We met friends who are local and they have been introducing us to the many restaurants in Carpinteria. This one was outstanding. Understand, coming from 30 years and retired from this business, the basics are what impress me. First, the service justifies the cost of the meal, many places may have impressive food but lack the service, they do not.... More

3 of us met at Slys for dinner, and we will never go again. Our table was below the A/C which was blowing freezing air throughout our 90 minutes in the restaurant. Our waiter was rude and very difficult to understand, repeating his "local" stories, despite the fact that we were attempting to converse with each other rather than with... More

I have heard good comments about Sly's for years but never made the trek to Carpinteria. Finally made it today for lunch and was I impressed. Service was attentive, food good and dessert was to die for (profiteroles) Can't wait to try dinner or brunch. Chef Sly came by to see how everything was, which is a nice touch. Truly... More
