I grew up in Carmel Valley and have fond memories eating at Plaza Linda. When the younger generation took over, things changed and not for the better. :( Location: the best part of the restaurant. Great decor and ambiance (from previous restaurant that was there before) and the outside deck is great and dog friendly...a plus! Unfortunately, that's the only... More

Our first visit was for brunch and we were really pleased. The menu had a broad selection and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our selections. Service was casual but well done overall. The outdoor patio was very nice and dogs are allowed (yea) We were surprised at the pricing; very reasonable. The interior has an interesting decor from the previous... More

We tried this restaurant on our first night in Carmel because it was late, we were hungry, and this restaurant is pet friendly. I can only imagine that the positive reviews come from people who have never eaten Mexican food before. $18 for a simple chicken enchilada plate that isn't even as good as something you could order at a... Lovely ding room, family-run restaurant with familiar menu (enchiladas, burritos, etc.) but with a distinct difference. I recommend the combinations, the shrimp or crab enchiladas, the red or green enchiladas, and the carne asada. Full bar, several beers on tap, not much of a wine list, but hey, this is a Mexican type restaurant.

Really good service from a chatty waiter who couldn't do enough for us. Food was good value and plentiful. Sometimes it is the service that's makes a good meal and they have got this right.

While in town for a family wedding and staying at the Blue Sky Lodge we happened upon this empty place with low expectations but with enough room for our party of 7! What a terrific surprise that place has a fantastic breakfast!! In fact returned with a party of 10, 2 days later! Everyone was pleased with their breakfasts ranging... More

I was really craving chips & salsa and some serious Mexican food. Plaza Linda had been recommended to me by a co-worker, but boy was I disappointed. I arrived during what should have been the peak dinner rush on a Saturday night. There were only 3 other tables occupied besides my own. Uh oh. My friend and I ordered drinks... More

We stayed a few days in Carmel Valley while visiting California and just happened to try this place. It is great! The food is wonderful, seems Mexican to me but there are other influences from Central America I think. The staff are charming, prices are very reasonable and you can sit at the bar or inside or out on the deck.A... I am so glad this placed moved from its former location. They took over a building which was previously the Volcano Grill and kept most of the decor and furnishings. The atmosphere is very nice - modern but earthy, and the patio is a delight on good weather days (you can pretty much count on that in Carmel Valley). Food... More
