This place never disappoints...

Food is excellent, environment nice and quiet. It's a place we go to with friends when we want a leisurely dining experience and the opportunity to catch up and talk. Service is friendly. On a recent day trip up to Monterey, my husband and I found ourselves looking for a place to have lunch and chill out before our drive home. Our usual stop would be to walk around the gorgeous town of Carmel, or the Monterey downtown. But then we remembered that we had driven through Carmel Valley once inadvertently and said... More

Went here for lunch on the perfect day in Carmel Valley- sunny and warm- to enjoy patio dining. We were immediately seated. It was about five minutes until our waiter could get to us, but he acknowledged us soon after seating. Wine and water were promptly delivered. We both started with the cream of roasted vegetable soup- excellent! Delicate flavor,... More

I love this place!! Our group of six ate there over the 4th of July weekend. I ordered the Tomato Sandwich with tomatoes, basil, butter lettuce. cucumber, avocado, mozzarella, olive oil, capers & pesto aioli on wheat bread. It was heavenly. All the ingredients were first class and superb!! Everyone at our table enjoyed their dishes. They were closing as... More

Five couples in our group had Friday night dinner and it was delicious! Fun time, good atmosphere, and very good service.

The owner -chef will probably talk with you during your meal. He has put his heart into his restaurant. The steak, fish, chicken entrees are all done very nicely. Very reasonable wine list. Atmosphere is Mediteranean adobe. Nothing fancy; I'd like to see some native S. American items added to the menu, or as specials, since he comes from there.

Stopped for Saturday Brunch. The staff was courteous and the food was good. Just what I wanted. They have many tables outdoors and lots of signs that proclaim "Pet Friendly" but I didn't see any cats. Since I had my dog, I did not venture inside. Their business card describes the food as "California Cuisine with a French Flair". and... More

We went last Friday as a party of 6. With the exception of the artichoke appetizer, which was very good, everything else was plain and lacking in flavor. Several different entrees were ordered (Seafood Pasta Special, Duck, Veal, and Chicken Piccata), and each was just barely ok. To top things off, the service was appallingly slow. One example was it... More

This restaurant isn't anything fancy. It has good, tender steaks, local fish, chicken, and vegetarian options. The prices are very reasonable. The wine list doesn't over-charge like some restaurants in their category. In fact, they have a deal with local winery Cima Collina, a wine club I belong to, that waives corkage fees with those wines. VB also does wine... More

We came in for Sunday brunch and were pleasantly surprised. I had the eggs benedict and yes they were fantastic! My husband had the french toast and it was the perfect mix of soft and crunchy. They were a little under staffed for a Sunday Brunch but in reality, taking our time to enjoy the outdoors wasn't a big deal... More
