Lovely surroundings, good food

The cafe is now next to, but formerly was part of, the tasting room for Georis Winery. The rambling property, with many different places to dine outside under the trees, on the patio, or inside if you prefer, is charmingly presented and decorated. This restaurant has indoor eating as well as outdoor. The food is superb, and the wine list, while not extensive, is well thought out and reasonably priced.

This is one of the best Carmel Valley restaurants. They have a simple but pleasing atmosphere and have nice pizzas and burgers. Same owners as Casanova in the village.

Our Carmel trips almost always include a long walk with the dogs at Garland Ranch, then up to Corkscrew Cafe for an afternoon lunch/snack with wine on the patio. Food and wine list outstanding, the courtyard wonderful with the vines overhead. Great place for some slow eating and drinking and enjoying life. And on the times we've gone to dinner,... More

Recommended by a local winery we went for lunch. We tried fish tacos, excellent, croque monsieur very good and the roasted tomato and goat cheese pizza from the wood fired oven. The pizza was sublime with many layers of flavor and a nicely charred crust. Probably the best I have had in the US. Coffee must also be mentioned. Typical... More

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Carmel Valley. The staff is great and food is wonderful. Great fish tacos for lunch, my husband was disappointed that they were not on the dinner menu. Their pizza is magnificent.

We stopped into the Corkscrew Bistro (I have a photo)...which seems to be this place. Doesn't look like much on the outside...but inside it opens up into a series of rooms, and then a lovely courtyard, like you have been transported into some quaint European village. Our waiter was terrific...very knowledgeable and helpful. I believe his name was Adam. The... More

My wife and I had been in the Carmel Valley for 3 nights, enjoying many of the fine restaurants in the region. On our way out of town we decided to try the Corkscrew cafe for lunch based on a Trip Advisor review......what a treat!!!!!!!!! Our meal began with a wonderful squash soup, perfect for fall, followed by a delicious... More

The charm and ambiance starts at the entrance. The menu is very interesting. Depending upon where you are seated you can see some work stations. The food is very good and the presentation is wonderful. The duck is fabulous. Do stop by....

I ate here twice on this trip. Both times were very good. I had the pea soup and pear salad both times, as did the friend I was with. I went back the next night with my husband who had the trout and he said it was excellent. He had wine that was very nice. Service was attentive and efficient.... More
