What makes CV Ranch so good is not just the chef who prepares excellent meals, but the staff. They make you feel at home and relaxed right from the start. Back to the food: chef Woods has designed an eclectic menu to please everyone. At breakfast, everything is delicious, especially the green eggs benedict, made with jalapeno and at lunch... More

My husband and I stayed here in April 2014. It is a great place for families to stay with kids and pets. The beds are super comfortable and the room open with a view of the parking lot/swimming pool. This hotel is an average motor lodge type place. Perfect for a pit stop after camping in Big Sur. The breakfast... More

We stayed at the CVR for the weekend. We'd never been, so checked out the Lodge restaurant on yelp, TA, etc. Decided to try it the Friday night we arrived, prepared for a possible disappointment given some of the recent TA reviews. We could NOT have had a BETTER evening! We arrived for our 7:45 reserv, and as we talked... More

Food was good for a high end restaurant. The wine list is fair on the one hand to great (owing to former owners there is a 100 pt 1988 Chateau Mouton Rothschild 6L bottle in the wine cellar). The restaurant is open and there is a nice fireplace seating area for drinks while you wait on the table, or a... More

How do you take a beautiful location and a fine chef and still disappoint? You team them up with horrible service. Must agree with others who mentioned similar experiences. Was so disheartened ate every meal out. Yafa, Flying Fish Grill, and Dametra Cafe for dinner Jeffery's for breakfast were our choices and we loved them all. Wish we could say... More

Watch the sunset through hundreds of year old oaks, or sit poolside at the firepit, or sit inside...each place you can select is equally as wonderful. Great Food, great bar, great pricing. Tim Wood the Chef uses vegetables from the CV Ranch Organic Gardens.

We had a breakfast and dinner here while staying at the resort. In general, the food was very good, but the service was not as prompt and attentive as you would expect at a property of this type. The beet salad, salmon and short ribs all tasted great. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass. If none... More

Waiting for a friend. Took a looooong time to get someone to come over to our table and take an order. Even AFTER going back to the hostess and ASKING for service. Reasonable wine list. But overpriced. Did NOT follow our order for an appetizer. But VERY nice view from the outside terrace and fire pit.

Our dinner at the lodge was very, very good. The room felt like a country club, with a casual tone. My crab cake was one of the best I've ever tasted. My husband's steak was perfectly done, and he loved it. The folks there provided the makings for som'ores to take to the fire to create dessert. A very nice... More
