Perfect Sunday Brunch

The service was OK, but the Eggs Benny Bacon (switching the ham for bacon) with the Meyer Lemon hollandaise was delicious. To top it off: berry pancakes! Coffee could be a bit stronger.

There are few food adventures like this one. The food is excellent, prices quite reasonable, interesting wine list...just plan on making it an evening. Reservation a must. A true chef-led dining experience.

My wife and I took her daughter and boyfriend out to Michael Jones' Fine Dining Roadhouse. It had been nearly a year since we last visited. It again exceeded our expectations. Abel skivers, Oysters on the 1/2 shell, 3 Beet Salad, a raw tuna salad dish, and the best crab cake in Monterey County completed our appetizer selections. Both of... More

We have visited many times and always bring friends who have not been before. People from around the state and as far away as France. Everyone without exception has completely enjoyed the food. The presentation is wonderful and the service is good but not rushed. Good wine list featuring local wines at reasonable prices.

Pompous attitude from the staff, food comes out when the kitchen staff decides to actually do some work, 30 minutes to get our server to take our drink order......I could go on and on. The attitude of this restaurant is identical to that of the staff at Lokal! I heard the owner of Lokal is the son of the owner... More

Yes, it is out in the middle of Carmel Valley, up a very winding road, much of it into the sun because of the time of day. Give yourself plenty of time. But it is a beautiful drive. The place looks like an ice house (beer joint) in Texas. You can make an early reservation (before 7, but the earlier... More

The service was hard to describe. It took the waitress 30 minutes just to give us a menu. We waited another 40 minutes before we were able to get the waitress to take our order. 35 to 40 minutes later our order had not come up, so we asked the waitress what the wait was. she told us the food... an adventure to drive there..food is excellent. The music loud and if crowded can get noisy. Reservations are a must for they are only open for dinner on Monday nights. Brunch on Sundays are also good and can sit outside and enjoy the weather.

It's very different (country casual), a loong drive on a very curvaceous road, and the service leaves something to be desired. If you are looking for a conventional restaurant, look elsewhere. But if you're up for a very eclectic menu and fairly priced wine on a Monday night, and not in a hurry, it's worth the drive. Our party of... More
