Once again had a great meal Haven are server made the best old fashion my mother has ever had and that is saying something. The sweetbreads appetizer is always a winner and the veal was wonderful.

We love Carmel. We go there to visit with our cousin and her husband who are fantastic hosts. They take us to the best restaurants and the most scenic sights. We love it. We have been to L'escargot twice now and have loved it both times. Our cousin frequents the restaurant often enough that we receive fantastic attention. The menu... More

We enjoyed a wonderful experience of great food and great service. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The quality of the food was excellent and it was presented in a very unintimidating fashion.

What a great find on our most recent trip to Carmel! This restaurant is perfect in every way. Off the beaten path, intimate, modern in decor but a warm atmosphere. And the food, oh my! Beef Wellington is very hard to find these days and finding a good one is even more difficult. My husband and I declared ours perfect,... More

The four of us went hoping for a fine dining experience. But overall the food was a complete disappointment. We had a number of appetizers and four entrees and nobody liked what they ordered. For example my wife's scallops were rubbery and the madera sauce on my chicken was gloppy and the chicken was dry. Go to PassionFish in Pacific... More

Over the years I have eaten in dozens of Carmel restaurants and usually have had really good meals with decent service. L'escargot was a new experience for my and my wife and we did not go away disappointed. We ordered escargot in mushroom caps as an appetizer and we both felt that they were probably prepared as good if not... More

A visit to Carmel would not be complete without a dinner at L'Escargot! This charmer is quaint with a sophisticated French menu. The wine list is very good, offers a nice variety for everyone. Veal Sweetbreads are excellent, foie gras delicious, warm crusty bread - perfect starters. Every entree is prepared perfectly, flavorful. The Chef / Owner deserves praise for... More

Celebrated my birthday in Carmel and dined at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was fantastic! Ambience is very nice as well. Hot fresh bread from the oven followed by the veal sweetbreads in a delicious madera cream sauce followed by Diver Scallops. Desert was a lemon and chèvre cheesecake. Of course the Chardonnay was a perfect... More
