A pleasant surprise

We were working our way back to San Jose on Highway 1 when we entered Carmel. We avoided going into the down town because of the annual concourse auto event, and stopped at a shopping center outside of town. We had our 6 year old grandson with us. We saw that Bistro 211 had good reviews and decided... read more

Have been here a few times now and have yet to write a review. This place has a great variety of items to select from and can always find something that sounds good. I have been for breakfast and lunch and both were legit. The quality of their food is on point, they use fresh and tasty ingredients. Yesterday I... More

Got a lovely outside table , menu was good , prices high but probably relative to the area. The waitress appeared to be having a bad day - unfriendly , unhelpful and lacking in personality. Asked if they had wifi, she said yes, asked if there was a password , she said ' I don't know' . Food was okay... More

We stopped here for lunch on our way down the coast and were delighted. My BF had a massive juicy burger that was on point and I ordered a chicken quesadilla. The chicken was freshly cooked and moist and other ingredients were fresh and good. The outdoor seating area is charming and each table has a little planted herb.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The food was expensive... Which is OK if it's great. It was totally unremarkable. The real challenge for me was very slow, totally inattentive service. From getting a table to getting the check, the service was noticeably bad. We won't be back.

Great expectations denied. I have heard great things about Bistro 211 in Pawleys Island for the past year. Today, my wife decided to try out this trendy restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted by the dining room hostess. She immediately sat us at at open two seat table near the bar which included a view of the crowded parking lot. Waitress... More

Commonplace restaurants are all too often easy to come by. They seem to be restaurants that don't want to try too hard to keep their diners really that happy - just get them in and get them out. And, unfortunately, Bistro 211 is one of these. We were looking for a small restaurant we hadn't tried in the neighborhood. Bistro... More

Second time eating here. This restaurant is really tucked back away from the main part of Crossroads mall, but worth the hunt. We visited on a week night about 6 PM. Only about 3 other tables. Our server was also the wine steward, host, cashier, etc this trip. The fresh salmon was a large piece well prepared, my wife thoroughly... More

The food here was actually not bad at all, though pretty modest portions by local standards. But we arrived just after a big party and the staff made it clear that they were their priority so could we order and eat up and get out of the way as soon as possible. I can't remember ever not leaving a tip... More

Ok, so here is the bottom line. This is a cute little bistro located in The Crossroads open air shopping mall. We jumped in for a mid afternoon Caesar salad. An adequate menu selection and a very friendly attentive server. Very kid friendly. Not sure we would make this our "go to" place to eat but we would certainly stop... More
