A relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail, and pastries baked daily on premises. Dining room is available for private dinner parties.

Good Find in Carmel

We happened upon this place looking for a light dinner and dessert. What a find. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very European. Then the ending with superb cream brûlée and other pastries was wonderful. We even went back for a second evening. Love this quaint place!

We stopped in here for lunch after viewing the menu outside. The inside is very aged and could use some TLC. The food was average. I had a sandwich with a salad that had one crouton on it (whoop) and my husband had the shepherds pie, which was mostly mashed potatoes. Next time we will find another place to eat.

We stumbled upon this delightful place which reminded me of a tea room although it was filled with men and women alike. Great French ambiance. The service was very good and the lunch was wonderful. My husband had the Vegetables in Phyllo and I had the crab/shrimp salad sandwich. Both were outstanding and we only wished we had left room... More

Great Desserts! We have stopped here in the afternoon a couple of times for coffee and desserts. The desserts are amazing but we felt somewhat uncomfortable here both times. We felt as if we were imposing on them to order dessert as if we were taking up one of their tables. Both times we were one of two or three... More

We read some good reviews about this restaurant so decided to give it a try for lunch. When we walked in we were delighted at how the place was decorated. It was a very elegant decor. It reminded me of a place you might have high tea. It also made me feel I could have been at a French bistro... More

We barely made their 4:30 p.m. closing time (before they reopen for dinner at 5:30), so imagine my disappointment when I bit into my almond croissant to only taste like a slightly tired Danish. A croissant is hugely different from a Danish, but they sell this abomination anyway. I so wanted to go back and demand my money back. I... More

OK, we know it is a patisserie by name, but they do serve dinners -- and it is in Carmel-by-the-Sea, so one would expect fish and for the restaurant not to run out of their main dishes by 7 pm on a Sunday night! So, when we were told that there was no fish or even duck left in the... More

While we had to wait a bit to be seated, it was well worth it. Our server was sweet and very attentive, making the visit even nicer. We had the Maison quiche, starter artichoke, and the garden sandwich with the soup du jour (cream of 5 onion), finished off with a Paris Brest to share. Everything was fantastic and we... More

After a drive along 17 Mile from Monterey we looked forward to having lunch in Carmel. Parking is premium here, just to find a spot but we managed. Blindly checking out some of the various posted menus we decided to ask somebody for a recommendation. The lady we asked lived in Carmel and as it happened we where only doors... More

My husband and I recently had the supreme pleasure of dining at Patisserie Boissiere. We found the restaurant on line, prior to our trip to Carmel. From the moment we walked in we knew we had picked a winner. The staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. My husband had one of that night's specials which was shrimp and salmon... More
