A relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail, and pastries baked daily on premises. Dining room is available for private dinner parties.

A Carmel-by-the-Sea Gem

We read some good reviews about this restaurant so decided to give it a try for lunch. When we walked in we were delighted at how the place was decorated. It was a very elegant decor. We barely made their 4:30 p.m. closing time (before they reopen for dinner at 5:30), so imagine my disappointment when I bit into my almond croissant to only taste like a slightly tired Danish. A croissant is hugely different from a Danish, but they sell this abomination anyway. I so wanted to go back and demand my money back. I... More

OK, we know it is a patisserie by name, but they do serve dinners -- and it is in Carmel-by-the-Sea, so one would expect fish and for the restaurant not to run out of their main dishes by 7 pm on a Sunday night! So, when we were told that there was no fish or even duck left in the... More

While we had to wait a bit to be seated, it was well worth it. Our server was sweet and very attentive, making the visit even nicer. We had the Maison quiche, starter artichoke, and the garden sandwich with the soup du jour (cream of 5 onion), finished off with a Paris Brest to share. Everything was fantastic and we... More

After a drive along 17 Mile from Monterey we looked forward to having lunch in Carmel. Parking is premium here, just to find a spot but we managed. Blindly checking out some of the various posted menus we decided to ask somebody for a recommendation. The lady we asked lived in Carmel and as it happened we where only doors... More

My husband and I recently had the supreme pleasure of dining at Patisserie Boissiere. We found the restaurant on line, prior to our trip to Carmel. From the moment we walked in we knew we had picked a winner. The staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. My husband had one of that night's specials which was shrimp and salmon... More

I asked this question of the hostess after being completely overwhelmed with the beautiful dessert case. She answered: The lemon cheesecake! We ordered a piece and it did not disappoint. If we didn't live 4 hours away I would have taken a piece of everything else to go.

it is so French! It is quiet, refined and not expensive. A great place for lunch. We try to have lunch there every time we are in Carmel.

I arrived in late evening and was looking for something close ... and tasty. I chose this one by browsing Trip Advisor. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I had French Onion Soup followed by Chicken Pot Pie. Both were very savory. The soup was very good. I could have made a nice meal with it and bread. The pot... More

Fabulous bakery case with many choices. Waitstaff are warm, friendly and helpful. Super crowded when we visited but they kept up nicely. If you're in a hurry not the place for you. Relaxing and enjoyable.
