Feels like being in France

it is so French! It is quiet, refined and not expensive. A great place for lunch. We try to have lunch there every time we are in Carmel.

I arrived in late evening and was looking for something close ... and tasty. I chose this one by browsing Trip Advisor. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I had French Onion Soup followed by Chicken Pot Pie. Both were very savory. The soup was very good. I could have made a nice meal with it and bread. The pot... More

Fabulous bakery case with many choices. Waitstaff are warm, friendly and helpful. Super crowded when we visited but they kept up nicely. If you're in a hurry not the place for you. Relaxing and enjoyable.

We saw this place on a busy lunch time and decided to book a table for dinner - big mistake. I had the Brie to start and the onion marmalade which was overwhelmed with balsamic vinegar. My partner had French onion soup, which he said was pretty tasteless. As a vegetarian I was sad to hear that neither the onion... More

It was a cool day in Carmel, and we wanted hot drinks. We decided to go to Patisserie Boissiere. We selected our desserts but waited to be seated because some women thought we were invisible and barged ahead of us. When we finally got our table, the server promptly took our drink orders. Our espresso drinks were quite tasty. I'm... More

At first entry, the charm of this restaurant knocked us out: fire blazing in a tiled fireplace, Country French antiques and chotchkes, fleur-de-lys everywhere. We chose bœuf Bourguignon, presented in a ramekin and extremely savory; and coquilles St-Jacques. The latter was artfully arranged and the seafood cooked perfectly, but its sauce totally tasteless. To make matters worse, the accompanying rice... More

We ate here on our first night in Carmel. Excellent food. I had the chicken pot pie. It was creamy and thick with generous portions of chicken. It had mashed potatoes on top instead of the traditional pastry. I would have preferred the pastry, but the potatoes were good. We also had some very smooth house wine and a lovely... More

We were there for lunch. Be aware of sizable dishes, so don't order too much. Artichoces were excellent and compared to other dishes right sized for a starter.

I have been to Carmel several times but never knew about Patisserie Boissiere since it is on a side street. A friend had recommended going here and I'm glad we did. The bakery is the first thing we experienced when we walked in the door. The quaint wooden tables and classic setting made us feel that we were in France.... More

We stumbled across this terrific little place on a family weekend to Carmel, and stopped in for brunch. It was worth the wait! Lovely decor with simple cobalt vases of fresh cut flowers grace each table. Classic French bistro fare. The French onion soup and croissants are classic. But the whole menu was enticing. Everything we ate was delicious and... More
