Nice Italian in Carmel

Cantinetta Luca serves up some nice Italian cuisine in the heart Carmel. Menu and beverage choices were very good. The only negative was the noise level, which made it very hard to enjoy a conversation. That seems to be the trend nowadays I guess!

Good pastas and desserts, their bread pudding was delicious! Nice place for an intimate dinner in Carmel.

I have eaten here more than half a dozen times and it is consistently good. I went last week and ordered a 34oz. Porterhouse steak and it was cooked to perfection. The brussel sprouts were delicious as was the pasta with bolognese sauce. The service was on point and I had another great dinner at Cantinetta Luca.

This is one of the restaurants we picked based on how busy it was last night. The decor is bistro style with prompt and attentive service. The menu is adequate but missing some of the items that we've come to associate with italian. The wine list has good picks but the desserts choices are limited. The food is average and... More

How do you start a review of a restaurant that has wild boar on the menu? That was delicious. Especially the cocoa noodles which I have never heard of before. My wife was less excited about her soup of the day (their only soup) which was potato soup. I've never had potato soup in an Italian restaurant. It was pedestrian.... More

Cantinetta Luca was great and the food was really good. its definitely a place that has some different flavors and pairings for food. I can appreciate these types of restaurants but am much simpler when it comes to being pleased by food. even with that said this restaurant nails it with food, GF and I both ordered Pasta and enjoyed... We did not have a reservation and came in on a busy evening. The restaurant was packed and they quoted us about an hour wait so we wandered around town and strolled down to the beach while we waited for our table. Once we were seated we ordered some drinks and were served some of their yummy bread with a... More

Very good food and super high quality ingredients. Rocking atmosphere. However, after several visits they are hit or miss to a degree.

Luca started out as an excellent Restaurant....since then, has gone down more each year. They were initially authentic, now VERY mediocre...Doughy bread, out of items on menu, sullen service, skimpy drinks at high prices. We ordered a vodka up and a run of the mill proseco. $15 for the vodka that was not even half full. Proseco was not chilled.... More

We have visited Carmel many times over the years and most times eat here for either lunch or dinner ...when we are in town. This is one of those places that when you go back you know it is going to be as reliably great as the last time you were there ! Their menu is always filled with great... More
