We stopped in for dinner on our drive up the coast. We had been in the car for over 8 hours, we obviously didn't look our best but we weren't dressed like bums either. We were seated and given menus. It wasn't exactly the atmosphere we were looking for initially, but the menu looked okay and we decided what we... More

We went for our anniversary and we're seated near two other couples celebrating their anniversaries too. The staff encouraged great conversation among us and we had a fantastic evening. The lamb and filet were to die for. The creme brulee was one of the best we ever enjoyed

Although this restaurant has never had the "buzz" of more trendy eateries, they have held the course long after those trendy places have come and gone. Every time we go to this restaurant we wonder why we don't go more often! It is always busy and we usually see other local residents dining here. The service is professional and friendly,... More

I'd requested a table in a quiet area when making a reservation. The hostess greeted us with the words that the restaurant was full and she wasn't sure there would be a quiet table. With that said, we were seated next to a table of 8 southern golfers, GO BAMA!....Service was fast and efficient though not particularly friendly. The special... More

After walkiing all around in Carmel, CA,on a trip to celebrate our anniversary we were ready for a bite of lunch to keep us going. We stopped at the Grill on Ocean Avenue for no particular reason and it was a good choice. The decor is pretty, the music was relaxing, the service was good and the food was delicious.... More

I've been coming to Carmel by the Sea for twenty years and this is, by far, my favorite place to eat dinner. The food is always delicious and fresh. The staff are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy. I love it. Their seafood is particularly awesome. Ask for a window table, it's a nice spot to eat great food... More

We had dinner here and both of us opted for seafood. I had salmon, which was ok but nothing special. My husband had the swordfish special and said it was wonderful. Both our entrees came with a hefty serving of fresh, roasted vegetables. While they were slightly undercooked, it's better than overcooked mush. We asked to sit by large fireplace... More

We found ourselves at 9:30 pm not having had a proper dinner and beginning to feel very hungry. We worried that it was too late as most Carmel restaurants close their kitchens at 09:00. Not so! Grill on Ocean Avenue welcomed us with open arms. In short order we were tucking into Sand Dabs (my favorite fish) done to perfection.... More
