TAKE OUT WAS GOOD

We tried Tommy Wok for a quick Chinese food fix. We did appetizers rather than a full meal from the take out menu. Multi-ingredient won ton soup was excellent. Pork strips also good. Food was ready when promised. Will be back for their entrees.

We love a fine dinner and a good bottle of wine, but we can also appreciate a more down to earth meal. We first tried Tommy's several years ago and lunch at Tommy's was such a delightful surprise that we returned a few days later. We recently returned to Carmel and again went to Tommy's for lunch. We shared broccoli... More

We stopped here for lunch based on good reviews in TA and other sites. What were these people thinking? The service was pleasant for a Chinese restaurant. The food was so bland and the beef was so tough, that we were sure we were in the wrong place! The hot & sour soup was good. That's all. Every thing else... More

We arrived into town early evening after a long day. Not feeling like going out, we decided to get some take out from Tommy's Wok. It can be a little hard to hard. Its in a little courtyard on Mission between 7th and Ocean. A small place, and it was busy when we arrived for our order. Despite that, it... More

It is really tough finding good quality Chinese/Asian restaurants - I am talking about a cut above the rest. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Make reservations or suffer the consequences of a very long wait. We went two nights in a row - yes it is that good! Forget the small space (smaller than you think) and the non-existent... More

You should absolutely go to Tommy’s Wok when in Carmel. It was recommended by a friend and totally delivered. It’s a small, no frills restaurant, but the food is incredible. We had the hot and sour soup, pork dumplings and Mongolian beef. It was all awesome. The place is small and as others have mentioned, it filled up at or... More

The best egg drop soup and manchurian beef ever!!!! And I'm from New York, so that's saying a lot. We were in Carmel for three nights. We ate there twice, that's how good it was. We even brought leftovers to our hotel fir dinner tonight. Food was so fresh, lots of veggies, and barely any starchy thickeners like most take... More

I boldly say and standby what I say that Tommy's Wok is the best Chinese restaurant on the Monterey Peninsula, not to mention Monterey County! The food preparation is excellent. It is as close to being authentic Chinese cuisine as you will find for most American palates. You will not be disappointed with whatever selection you make from Tommy's menu... More

Generally, I don't go out of my way to express negative comments on a restaurant . However, I was quite disappointed after reading all the positive comments . OK...the egg rolls were OK but the curry chicken was spice less with some form of rubberized chicken pieces . The chow mein noodles were burnt . We basically through it all... More

Tommy's Wok has always been a solid stand-by restaurant. Traditionally the food has always been made with the freshest of ingredients, very accommodating to special requests and relatively good value for money (particularly in comparison to other restaurants). Tommy's Wok is now the only Chinese restaurant in town and I can't help but think that their standards have slipped just... More
