I have been coming here off and on since 1958 with my parents under different owners but with the same name. And with Jim the latest owner I have never been disappointed with the "Breakfast" I even receive a "Local" discount good food always done write and good portions. And of course they have an Cappuccino Espresso maker you can't... More

The place looks quaint with white wooden walls and light baby blue trim on the outside, with the main door curved at the top, and a Dutch window along the front, where pedestrians n the sidewalk peek in to say hello to the old fart running the place. We walk in about 545pm , just in time for the $14... More

I have never written a negative review for Tripadvisor. I am reluctant to harm a business off of one brief encounter, but I find that my experience here so coincides with what others are saying that I decided to write this. I have enjoyed Em Les for years, but my experience there yesterday was a real disappointment. We went for... More

Last March my husband and I came to Carmel for a romantic getaway weekend. While we were walking, we passed by a restaurant with the most amazing looking breakfast! I actually did a double take, went back and asked a poor man through the window what he was eating. He told me he was having their "Famous" french toast. It... More

First of all the service was the worse that we have seen in Carmel!! I felt so bad that I wanted to leave but was there with kids for breakfast so decided to give the food a try.Ordered the french Toast which was very oily that with every bite we could feel the oil in our mouth!!! Very pricy too!... More

Love pigging out on this tasty French toast, They deep fry in special batter and serve with crushed almonds and their "secret syrup"' , This is a venerable small coffee shop/restaurant located in downtown Carmel, Not your typical tourist place, no advertising and basically a haven for locals and regulars. Warning the full order is a huge serving, better for... More

The pecan waffle was hard and just had pecans sprinkled on it, though a lot. The French toast was good but soggy. For 11.95, I would have expected some whipped cream and better presentation. Cute place though, just not great and overpriced.

Em Le's has such a delicious menu for breakfast that leaves you belly full and happy. The atmosphere is quaint and fits the style of Carmel, but the breakfast is something to check out. Stop on by with your appetite.

The French Toast at Em Le's is addictive and legendary, so every time relatives or friends come to visit us, we take them there and they swoon! Last night all of us enjoyed the Early Bird dinner specials which were tasty and of very good value. I usually order the lamb shanks or the pasta with pink vodka sauce, but... More
