It was the end of January and 75F on a clear sunny day. What better than the Village Corner for a late breakfast on the patio. The retractable roof was open. Fire pits and heat lamps if required. Not too crowded and dog friendly. We ordered coffee to accompany the Eggs Benedict and Mediterranean Frittata. Both dishes were served by... More

The Village Corner is another of my go to restos during my annual trip to Carmel. I love the terrace and much to my delight, during this last visit I discovered that it has a retractable roof to provide shade from the hot October sun. The food is always delicious and the service above par.

It was a little too cool for the patio even with the wonderful fireplace, so we ate indoors and it was also a little cool in there because they leave the doors open. Greeted, seated, and got the bread with a good tomato dipping sauce. Ordered mixed seafood grill for two and the Greek salad to split. Hubby hasn't eaten so much... More

They is the best place in Carmel. Love it. Chris and the staff really do it right. Great food, great patio (dog friendly) and a great staff. You have to eat here.

We spend New Year's Eve in Carmel every year with a group of friends, and this has been our traditional place to eat on New Year's Eve - large enough for our big group and relatively quiet. The food has been reliably "very good," and the service has always been excellent. However, this year was a disappointment. First of all,... More

Wouldn't recommend for breakfast. My wife and I were very disappointed with this restaurant. The silverware had yucky dried egg caked between the fork tongs when we sat down. The breakfast did come quickly but seemed too quickly as though the food had been sitting off to the side of the stove awaiting the next customer. The bacon and hashed... More

Every time we come here, I have to order the clams and linguini!! They make it delicious. Our waiter, Tijo (name may be wrong) was excellent. He took good care of us!! The place is always busy. We've never been disappointed and it's also nice because you can eat outdoors too. Try their artichoke also. Yummy! Thumbs up all the... More

We were disappointed with the service and the food on our one visit this year - somehow the welcome is not the same, the service a little surly and the breakfast we had was not cooked as ordered. That said they were very busy - maybe we caught them on a bad day!

We were looking for a place to grab breakfast and settled on this gem. I had the crab Benedict and it actually had crab (vs. crab cake). The coffee was good and the service was fast and friendly. It wasn't busy when we were there, but I could see it being crowded quickly on a busy day!

We've included this restaurant every time we've visited Carmel over 25 years. We particularly enjoy sitting at one of the tables on the patio, around the fire pit, weather permitting. The food is excellent and the service has been consistently pleasant and efficient. Check out the menu online, as it obviously changes. If the current choices are to your liking,... More
