Arived in town on Labor Day and saw that this place looked like it was a fav of the locals. Once inside we found that to be true. The bar sceene was vibrant and the restaurant busy. We were pleasntly suppiesd to get a table for two without a reservation. I ordered one of the chef's specials Grilled Halibut. My... More

We went to the Rio Grill for an early dinner. We did not have reservations, but since we were there at 5 when they opened, they seated us right away. The restaurant was full in no time. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. We started with prickly pear Margaritas that were a fresh alternative to the classic version. The... More

I have always been pleased with the quality of the food and service at Rio Grill. If you are visiting from out of town and shopping at The Crossroads, this would be a great place to stop for lunch.

Great steaks, fish, all your standards done right. A beautiful restaurant with a great wine list and a full bar. Their bites menu has some very unique items that are perfect for a starter or share a couple of plates, split a salad, and go straight to dessert! The skillet lobster Mac & Cheese and the Lamb-Cotija meatballs are the... More

We were staying in Carmel for a few days and we're in the area looking for a place for lunch. We saw Rio Grill and decided to stop, thinking it would be primarily steaks, burgers and beer. We were a little surprised by the white table cloths and napkins. We were a little under dressed (shorts, t-shirts, and sandals) but... More

There is an early dinner menu (if seated by 6:00) that offers four light "courses", smaller portions than the full dinner menu but still enough for us.A good deal for the price on Ocean Avenue.

Any port in a storm is a restaurant that is always open, has plenty of parking and has good food at a reasonable price. Rio Grill certainly fills this bill and more. It is opern for three meals a day, and always crowded, so it is a good idea to make a reservation, or look like a local. They have... More

We have been here a few times, sometimes eating in the bar, and sometimes in the restaurant, the food has always been excellent, very good service. This is one of our go to places to eat.

It's easy to get stuck at restaurants off Ocean Ave in Carmel, but some of the best are a drive away. This one is in the Crossroads Mall, near Safeway. The place is decorated with a cute Southwest theme, but the walls are painted with pictures of locals and celebs who have dined there. You can tell the locals love... More
