Broiled artichokes are a must!

This restaurant is consistently good to very good. Selections are broad and tasty. The major problem is that it is always so noisy! We have gone there early; we have gone there late. It does not seem to matter. So,, if it is good food you are after, it is a good choice. If it is conversation... read more

Nice place to have lunch or dinner. Very comfortable atmosphere. Located in a mall just outside of downtown Carmel. Food is not high cuisine but it is more than adequate. Active bar scene.

I'm never disappointed having a meal at The Rio Grill. My server Theresa was over the top; knowledgeable about not only the menu but how things were prepared/cooked, seasons, wine choices, and accommodated my desire to relax first before starting my dinner. The chicken salad was just what I needed; complex but comfort food none the less. Come one, come... More

I have been to the Rio Grill many times over 20 years of visiting the Carmel Route 1 area. I have tried the other highly rated places but always go back to Rio. My favorite is the way they prepare local artichokes with dipping sauces. Their bread and salad are unusualy fresh. The local seafood is done just right. They... More

A group of three, we was blown away by the professional, unobtrusive but always on call service. Outstanding. My meal of Port shank was on the dry side and did not come up to the standard of my friends meals, which I am told were great

Rio is one of my favorite restaurants on the Peninsula with its innovative menu, superb wine list, and attentive servers. There is usually a lively crowd at the bar where bartenders like Seale and Andrew rapidly pour a dazzling array of drinks from Manhattans to Martinis, and Margaritas to Mojitos. Happy hour offers a robust selection from ribs to tiny... More

We discovered Rio Grill by chance since we had visited the shopping center for a post-holiday sale -- and we were glad we found it. From the hostess, to the server, to the manager, to the food deliverer, to the chef -- we were approached by all of them in less than an hour -- we cannot say enough for... More

The food was ok but the service was more than lacking. Our waiter never returned with my water or to ask if we needed anything. Had to go to the front desk to get anyone to help us. My office had our monthly lunch here on Wednesday 1/5/2016. The service was wonderful and attentive, and the food was phenomenal! I recommend this restaurant for any occasion. I can't wait to visit for dinner and enjoy some of those amazing cocktails!
