Good meal, nice experience

The menu had plenty of variety and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was good but I didn't find anything unique. Most menu items were what you'd expect to find at an American grill menu. I thought everything we ate, while predictable, was prepared nicely. Our group of two couples were driving through the area and stopped for a late lunch. The Rio Grill was very inviting with a fresh friendly look and feel. White table cloths and wine glasses donned the tables. Service was very good. We had wine and beer. Our lunches consisted of burgers, lasagna and the turkey club sandwich. We all... More

This was a new restaurant a friend took us to. She said it was usually delicious. We walked into a nice restaurant that was waaaay tooooo loud, but nicely decorated with lots of southwestern themed art. Service was wonderful. Wine selection is good, but extremely expensive, by the glass. The food was unbelievably good. I mean, one of the best... More

lively atmosphere, happy people, friendly staff, and good food. My favorite combination. My husband had the roast duck and I just gorged myself on appetizers. All are very good. We ordered calamari, empanadas, buffalo carpaccio, and daily special flatbreads. I also like they have an app for ordering drinks and wines. It is a nice way to use technology to... More

I passed up the obvious deals at the bar section in order to get a quieter bigger table. Made a mistake. The locals got the cheaper small plates and drinks with the same good kitchen creations. Dinners at the table were $40 per person and up including wine. Nice place but not a great value.

We were traveling up the coast and stumbled on this restaurant. Obviously a locals favorite the restaurant was very busy and a bit noisy but the staff greeted us with a smile and sat us relatively quick. We started with a Rio Rita which is their signature margarita. Very tasty. The menu was unlike anything we've seen before with an... More

Two of us stopped for lunch. The staff was attentive, the place was clean and the food came quickly. I ordered the ribs which were tender but smothered in a overly sweet BBQ sauce. I faced a wall covered in caricatures of what I guess to be regular customers, who are from the '80s. This wall, in my opinion, ruined... More

We stopped here after driving the PCH. It was across the street from our hotel. The food was good. Service was fine. There was a mix-up on my daughter's order, so that was frustrating but not huge.

As a local customer I love this restaurant. Food is always heavenly. I usually sit at the bar section, that is less formal. The berry pie is always the best, but everything is really good. The fish or chicken or beef dishes are all really good. (Almond crusted chicken breast- yum). Their hamburger is to die for...etc.

We went for lunch this weekend and we're not overly impressed. Our last time for dinner was great! This is Carmel and a expensive, so I expected more. The Brocolli / Artichoke soup was bland. The salmon sandwich came on rye bread which my guest hates, menu said it was served on focaccia which the waiter should have pointed out... More
