Dinner

I went here for dinner and I was pleased with the food. The people that work here are attentive and friendly. I'll revisit this restaurant when I'm back in Carmel again.

I have been going to the Rio Grill for around twenty years and I have always had a wonderful experience. The food is absolutely first rate and so is the staff. Lately I have been ordering the wood-oven chicken with baby artichokes and it is always fantastic. There are many other delightful treats on the menu as well including the... More

Rarely do I ever submit a review so clearly sub par but to save other diners from a less than pleasant dining experience I am willing to do so. We had made reservations on Monday @ Rio Grill. Arrived early had a drink at the bar, service slow for the mixed drink while the bartender chatted with locals that were... More

Welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere in this place. Food is of a good standard but nothing to get over excited about. Quantaties and quality is very good and you won't go home hungry but it seems to just lack that extra thing that could make it really special. I had a burger and it was a s good as... More

Typical Mexican Cuisine. Nice staff, Parking a bit tight. Margaritas were a bit weak. Was not really impressed, just typical cantina.

The marinated grilled artichoke starter was excellent as was the roasted banana cake with burnt caramel and coconut ice cream. Everything in between was just okay. Service was spotty. Our entree arrived before our salad plates were cleared. Our primary server was pleasant with a tendency to touch too much - an arm, a shoulder - not a good practice.

Great feeling walking in the door. This is a Carmel go to restaurant. Fresh warm bread delivered to table. Crunchy and good. We had a small lunch of the arugula salad with hearts of palm, it was sooo good. Crab cake was warm and delicate with a hint of spice. It came with a lightly dressed cucumber salad. A must... More

Food was great; beer selection is minimal... they offer a lot of the local beers, which mainly weren't bad. But if you have a liking for a favorite beer, which I do, forget it. Very crowded during lunch hours; recommend after 1:00 pm or before 11:00 am.

Im basing my review on two dishes ordered on Friday, March 13, 2015. The shrimp with penne pasta and the crispy pork shank. The shrimp and pasta were the better of the two dishes. The cream sauce was nicely spiced and the pasta itself was cooked perfectly. A tasty meal. The crispy pork shank came with glowing recommendations from other... More

It's a fun, lively (for Carmel) place to meet for dinner. Although the menu does not change, they have daily specials that add depth to the dining experience. The fish specials are particularly good - great pieces of fish in comibnation of vegetables and creative sides. Love the chicken salad on the regular menu - all the ingredients are served... More
