We were in the Ocean Room, with windows all around for a brunch for a 70th birthday celebration. Rained almost all morning but it still was beautiful outside. The brunch table was covered in variety of muffins, french toast, fruit, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs and bacon. There were about thirty of us there and it sure seemed like everyone was... More

Integrated with the Pine Inn, this is a nice in-character Italian restaurant. Not cheap, but high quality. Good friendly attentive service. $20 corkage is worth it because the wine is a tad expensive.

A beautiful outdoor patio and a sun drenched room makes Il Fornaio an ideal lunch spot. Their Carpaccio is thin and maybe not cut in house $14 but a nice start. The Ravioli Lucana is tasty and has a great sauce. I'd skip dessert here

Thank you for your kind words. We're truly glad you enjoyed your visit. I would also like to assure you that we do cut our delicious and very thin carpaccio right here. Everything is prepared fresh everyday from scatch with very few exceptions. And I'm surprised you'd skip dessert. I think they are wonderful and all too tempting. Maybe you... More

Il Fornaio in Carmel is a handsome restaurant, offering an extensive menu with a moderate to high price range. Service is usually flawless, but Judy and I happened to go there this month when they were handling a big, loud party on the outside deck. That probably ate up the majority of the staff, which left us with the remains.... More

We made reservations, then arrived early and they were able to accommodate us. The service was professional "white coat" style, but could have been a bit prompter. My dinner was served hot and tasty, as were my family's. Save room for dessert!

We were still jet lagged and couldn't face going out to a restaurant but really wanted some great Italian food. I rang Ill Fornaio to see if they did food to go- really not expecting a yes from such a prestigious place but they were absolutely charming and said yes, anything from the menu! The food was ready as arranged... More

Il fornaio is consistently good, great service, and they are a bit off the main drag in Carmel so its easier to get in / out in a reasonable time period with kids. And the kids love their pizza. Beautiful restaurant and always looks lovely at Christmas. Highly recommend for a nice apres beach lunch with kids.

They have great bread but the crust on the pizza is just like our favorite places in Italy. The pasta and salads are wonderful and the Lime tart for desert is special!
