The bartender was a true professional that took really good care of us. The pasta dish was excellent and priced right at $15.50. The Salad Regina was super tasty, cous cous, avocado, local tomatoes and arugula. One of the best vodka sodas we have ever had. Great lunch experience!

My husband and I have spent many a Friday night at the bar visiting with Susie. We are so distressed that she was fired, and we are not alone. The Il Fornaio bar was our 'Cheers Bar'! We knew that we would always run into other fun locals and tourists, all hanging out visiting with Susie. Susie always made a... More

Stayed by the window and were told we were the guests of honor. Got free apps, samples, and dessert. We were totally stuffed and walked away paying less than $50, most of which was wine. Pizza was great, the ravioli stuffed with squash was amazing as well. Super friendly staff.

Having recently been to Italy, our expectations of Italian food are quite high... That being said, this was very good food. Huge portions, so come hungry. The beet salad was nice, neither the best nor the worst we've had. The bread was quite good. The butternut squash ravioli, capellini pomodoro, and roasted chicken were delicious. The desert list was disappointing,... More

Me and my wife came in Friday for our usual beer and glass of wine after a long work week,This is one of our favorite things to do. Upon our arrival we looked and found a seat at the bar and waited for our usual bartender, Susie. We didn't see her so we just continued with our normal business, thinking... More

We had 6am flight from Connecticut to California, got a car at the San Francisco airport and drove to Carmel-By-The-Sea where we were staying for one night at the Pine Inn before moving to Carmel Valley the next day for a wedding. Il Fornaio is attached to the Inn and I knew we weren't going to want to go out... More

Our family recently visited Carmel and had dinner at Il Fornaio. Although we generally are not picky eaters and will over-look small problems with a meal or service, this meal was notable because each one of us found our meal to be sub-par. The fish special was clearly spoiled and absolutely inedible. Service was marginal and we felt as though... More

We love coming in to the Pine Inn for afternoon cocktails. Its our tradition. Walk down Ocean Avenue to the beach...walk back...stop at Il Fornaio for drinks. The wait staff is always friendly. The drinks are top-notch. It reminds us that this is what vacation is all about.

On a recent trip to Carmel, we had reservations on a Friday evening. We were seated quickly but it took a long time for anyone to even acknowledge us at our table. Unfortunately, it didn't improve. My teenage son and I had been looking forward to dining here all that week. We had eaten there a couple of years ago... More
