This place provided my family and friends with a lovely, quaint place to dine on the patio as we ended a day of shopping and exploring. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely.

All the atmosphere is outside under the heat lamps and vegetation. We ate in the downstairs dining room and had great service but lacked the "forest" feel.

The food is delicious but check the stability of your chairs. The patio is very uneven and our meal was ruined by the uncomfortable seating.

We were here for lunch with our dog, and were seated outside near a stone fireplace at the middle of the patio area. They keep a self filling water bowl and a small pail of dog treats at the host stand, and also provide water bowls for each dog at their table. Service needs tweaking. Why? because I ordered duck... Visiting family in Carmel for the holidays & we had dinner here. Food was excellent, sat outside under the stars but service needs improvement. Our waitress didn't even smile & we sat waiting for so long for service that my husband had to go and order drinks at the bar.

The Forge has been a personal favorite since 1976 when its unique arboreal, almost “protective” outdoor ambiance attracted me for the al fresco dining to which I'm addicted. (I’m Steve and I'm an outdoor nut.) And now years later, the amazing verdure and comfortable surroundings here still make for a cozy lunch outside, or dinner near a fireplace in the... More

The forge will overwhelm you with the ambience from the outside looking it as it has outside seating. After that, it's just an average bar. Everything is average. I have been there 4 times over the last 10 years and each time, I leave disappointed. This place should have a 30 minute waiting list rain or shine, the location and... More

We have walked by the place a number of times when in Carmel, and this trip finally eat dinner there. Cold evening but nice outdoor fire and heating lamps. Service and food good. Easy to have conversations. Dog friendly place but not that it invades your space.

We have passed it many times, and decided to try it out. An absolutely amazing winter squash soup, velvety smooth and NOT low cal. Nice wine list. Friendly and helpful staff. Outside is a dog friendly, if that is an issue. Everything from hotdogs to steak and seafood is available.
