We are open every day - all day. Our guests may enjoy whale spouting, sea otters and pelicans. After sunset, our powerful floodlights illuminate the rocks and shore.

Great place to stop for lunch or dinner. We did both in one day we liked it so much. This is located about 7 miles south of Carmel on Highway 1 and sits on the ocean. The recent remodeling with new fireplaces and added decks outside for additional eating or cocktails day or night. We had a Peach Salad, Shrimp... More

We ate here 33 years ago on our honeymoon and had been back 2 times since. Tonight we decided to just have drinks and starters, enjoy the view and then go somewhere else for dinner. After all the reviews on food and service have been less than stellar. Well, we were so happy to see the restaurant had been updated... More

After a drive through the Big Sur area on Highway 1, my husband and I and two other couples stopped at Rocky Point Restaurant in Carmel. Our outside table gave us an amazing view of the ocean while we enjoyed drinks and/or ice cream on the deck. While I can't vouch for meals, what we had was very good. This... More

We took our family here for dinner this month and had been there prior to this as well. While I appreciate a lovely sunset, I think I would return for lunch to take in the sunshine and blue waters during the day and avoid the blasting sun in my eyes in the evening. It's also warmer, although there are plenty... More

writing this mainly in view of the numerous negative write-ups we had seen before going to this place regarding the service - we are glad that we went despite those! service was warm and gracious. whales flipping back to back while we had a grandstand view from our table was an added bonus :-)

I have been to this restaurant every year for the past 4 years on our vacations to Monterey . The view is wonderful. But this year has left me with the "I will never give a dime to this establishment attitude". We went there on Saturday 9/6/14. We ordered 2 bowls of Clam chowder, a burger, a salad and a... More

This was an impromptu stop but what a find! We ate outside for a late lunch overlooking beautiful views of the ocean. The menu was nicely varied for everyone and all of the meals were above our expectation with beautiful plating and extras. Service was excellent, water glasses were never left unfilled. We did not have reservations but we were... More

Rocky Point is beautiful, and the perfect setting for a restaurant at the top of the Big Sur. Not only that, but the food is very good and the atmosphere drop-dead-gorgeous. Although their burgers are highly recommended, we opted for a dinner menu of fresh oysters and clam chowder to start, followed by a filet mignon and the daily fish... More

Stopped after our drive on HWY 1 up from Cambria , and what a good call!! First-the view is outstanding, and just melts you away. The food was exceptional and unique - I had the clam chowder and oysters on the half shell with a local chardonnay - Talbott 2012 Kali Hart, Monterey - All outstanding in taste and presentation.... The view really is fantastic, but the food has gotten much better and is reason enough to go. Try the burger, night or day.
