Great view and great food

This is an excellent place to stop for a lunch while driving on Route 1. Food selection is very good and with different selections from fish to chicken and with good price points. Selection of view is also good, but could improve when it comes to the local alternatives. View when sitting outside... read more

Rocky Point Restaurant in Big Sur about 10 miles south of Carmel. Casual atmosphere with spell binding views. Timing is everything....make sure to arrive for sunset reserving either a window table or terrace table. Sit back and be astounded at the changing sunset hues. The menu features both meats and local fish. Wait staff extremely accommodating even taking photos of... More

Nowhere is the view like this: spectacular. The food was very good, and our server was terrific. You can sit inside or outside on the decks, but it was too cool and windy when we were there to sit outside; our inside window view was still amazing.

Rocky Point has become a firm favorite for lunch or dinner watching the sun set. The new owners spent a couple of million renovating the place and did a first class job. Much more comfortable and capacious. The menu is new and interesting with a fresh and tasty selection of appetizers and main courses. It is reasonably priced and the... More

WOW! Want to have everything at one place? Rocky Point is your destination for great food, service and views of sunset. We also were treated to whales just off shore! I had the Seafood Louie salad as my entree and it was delicious. Packed with crab and shrimp, I couldn't finish my meal there was so much food. My husband... More

When we finished a 4-hour hike at Point Lobos State Park on a glorious, sunny day, it was lunchtime, and the very nice docent recommended stopping here on our way to Big Sur. Wow! We might have missed the one sign and hard right turn if we hadn't been watching for it, but what a find. Tucked into a tree-covered... More

The view is fantastic. I love the new Southern Fried Chicken, very tasty. The New York Cheese Cake is also excellent. In addition to the great food and scenery, the service is also very impressive. It is a great dinning experience. Highly recommended.

Finally... Food to go with the view. The view at Rocky Point as always been fanatastic. New owners have done much to improve the inside space AND added a beuatiful new deck in back. The new chef & manager as of Sept 14 have stepped up the quality of the food. The presentation is beautiful. Calamri appetizer crisp & large... More

My girlfriend and I went here for a romantic, sunset dinner. We weren't disappointed! The view from the ocean front tables and the terrace were beautiful, the whales were migrating and we saw quite a few make their way past. Starting with the hostess, our waiter( Doug) and other wait staff, everyone was so friendly. The food and drinks were... More
