Usually the service at restaurants with views is the reverse of the excellent views. Not so here. The service was very good, the menu was good and the wine list, better than expected.

Had a late lunch on a beautiful afternoon. Our waiter was terrific and the food, especially the crab sliders, excellent. A wonderful place to linger over a bottle of wine and enjoy the wine in a much less crowded atmosphere than nearby Nepenthe ( which, I hasten to add, I also enjoy!)

It's still a beautiful property. The staff is outstanding too, very nice very caring too. I remember way back when all they served at Rocky Point was a huge piece of meat and a baked potatoe, well you could also get a salad. Thus was in the late 1970s. The view was the same. A picturesque setting for a Father's... More

Second try. The views and setting are magnificent. The service and food quality leave much to be desired. Last visit was ok... This time: painful service, cold food, and a portion more suited to an appetizer than a dinner

After 2 wonderful visits to Rocky Point in the last few months, we were looking forward to treating our friends to a special dinner. Saturday evening, and the weather was perfect for a visit to the Big Sur coast. We were greeted by a very friendly host, and taken to a wonderful window table. The restaurant seemed quite busy, and... More

One of the most beautiful views from a restaurant I have EVER had. The food is delicious too, I had crab sliders that were very tasty, good chips also. But the reason to go is the whole experience. Sitting and eating with a truly perfect view of the ocean, the sun shining... it is a unique and fabulous experience. The... More

Service; quality; attention. All excellent. We love it all. Including the music. The menu options were varied. They have the whole package down. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth. What they offer augments the feeling.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on a recent trip to Carmel and a drive down Hwy 1. I read many of the negative reviews and was a little weary, but thought the view could make anything taste good. We arrived on a Thursday to a light crowd, seated quickly outside with that incredible view. The service was great,... More

Rustic and beautifully located Rocky Point restaurant was a short drive from Carmel as you head down HWY 1 toward Big Sur. (If by chance you’ve driven over the Bixby Bridge, you’ve gone to far.) We have traveled this road many times, and unless your intention is to find Rocky Point restaurant, it is quite easily missed. Restaurant sign and... More
