We had lunch here at Rocky Point. This was the highlight of our trip to Carmel. The restaurant is located at an absolutely gorgeous spot overlooking the sea. It is beautifully landscaped with breathtaking views. Be sure to bring your camera. The food was very good, similar to Basil in Carmel by the Sea, if not same chef/owner. Our meal... More

This restaurant is on a private point, off of Highway 1 about 10 miles south of Carmel. We happened upon it after an incredibly frustrating attempt to get something to eat in Carmel. The restaurant is open and airy, although it also has very nice outdoor seating, with great views out the windows and a private cliffside promenade with even... More

It takes cooperation from the weather, of course, but one of my all time best memories is now sitting on the patio at Rocky Point, watching the fabulous aqua waves crash against the rocks right below us, while the whales played in full view. Had a really delicious quiche - fluffy and moist. Other reader is right about Nepenthe -... More

I liked this place very much. It gives one of the best views to Big Sur coast and to my mind it is one of the biggest advantages. It is fantastic. Service and quisine were good as well. There is one more restaurant with a view, Nepenthe. But it is more crowded and touristical

I stopped by the restaurant, primarily for the views, but was served a delicious cocktail. The renovation is beautiful. I will definitely be stopping by for dinner the next time I am in the area.

Totally outstanding vista of the coast. Crashing waves and whales too! The restaurant was recently refurbished and decorated with beautiful photos and accent pieces. Dining inside and out on the balcony is available - you can tell all employees are proud of what they do. Really nice and comfortable feeling. Our wait person was "Skip" he has been there for... For the past 50 years, on a few occasions, my husband and I have not only enjoyed Rocky Point for the over the top, spectacular scenery, but also for the best Baked Potato to be found ANYWHERE. You all know what I mean if you had ever been to Rocky Point. I can't tell you how dumbfounded I was when... More

My wife invited me to have birthday brunch at Rocky Point today, and it turned out to be one of the best meals I have ever had. The scenery outside was stunning and the food marvelous. I am most impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and friendliness of the serving staff. Their new crab slider is totally amazing, light... More

I had the wonderful good fortune to dine for the first time at this absolute jewel of a restaurant two days ago. It's truly world class in terms of its cuisine and unbelievably majestic, inspiring views of the Big Sur coast. I almost felt I was dreaming and in heaven! The dishes were extraordinarily delicious: I have never had such... More

Setting and view hard to beat. Great spot for wine and cheese or lunch. Also lighted cliff and water view at night but tough drive back to Carmel at night. Daytime drive beautiful. Don't find food anything special but view more than compensates. We never miss going when in Carmel and have been many times. Be sure to walk out... More
