Spectacular view, great service, ok food

This restaurant has amazing views of Bixby Bridge and the Big Sur coast. We originally reserved outdoor seating and since it was a little cold and windy, we requested to be seated closer to the heat lamps. The host was very gracious and switched us to different tables and also brought us several... read more

Not only is Rocky Point in a magnificent location with the ultimate of views of the Pacific, the food is excellent, the staff is top notch...friendly and always cheerful. We go to Carmel twice a year and would NEVER miss going to Rocky Point numerous times. The Thursday fried chicken is superb, as is the beet salad!!!!!!!! And as for... More

Although the setting is world class, we were very disappointed with the service and prices. This is currently run as a tourist trap, beware. First they said they were closed when we arrived and it was only 7:30 at night! The Hostess at the front desk as very strange: did not want to help, and we had about 12 people.... More

It is such a shame that such a beautiful setting could revert back to mediocre food. For a while it was so much better and now a couple things we tried were too spicy. I am so sorry to hear from some friends that are their also recently that the food was just okay but location is great.

You MUST stop here! After driving down PCHwy and hiking Point Lobos Reserve (amazing) we spotted this restaurant sign, thank goodness! While waiting for our food we were served complimentary sourdough bread which was topped with cilantro, corn, oil and spices. Incredibly delicious! The crab sliders w fresh fruit ($19) and Rocky Point BLT w fries ($16) were incredibly delicious!... More

We stopped here on our drive down Pacific Coast Hwy and certainly weren't disappointed. Exquisute views, superb food, and incredible service. The chef, Herman Hernandez, seemed to genuinely care about our experience. He introduced himself and talked to us for a few minutes. All of the workers were very personable as well. The garlic bread was heavenly and the entrees... More

Last week while touring down the California coast (10 miles south of Carmel) we stumbled upon the Rocky Point restaurant. We drove down the long driveway entrance expecting to find an overpriced/stuffy food establishment, but instead we found nirvana for our dining experience. Fully expecting to be turned away because of casual dress, we were warmly greeted by a friendly... More

our massuse recommended this restaurant so we went. The crab cake was delicious, as well as the lobster bisque. We plan to take our family. Whale watching was cool

Good food, great views, but poor management and turnover. I have been to this restaurant multiple times over the past few years. The view is amazing and the food has improved over the years and was excellent the last time I was there. The food was inconsistent in the past, but has been more consistent recently. The waiters are also... More

We hadn't been to Rocky Point for years, not since someone in our party complained about a steak being inedible. The waiter took the knife and fork from his hands explaining that he wasn't cutting it right, and proceeded to show him. It's been under new ownership for awhile now, and I overheard someone at the grocery store saying they... More
