We were walking on Carmel's main street and stepped in A.W. Shucks for a quick bite. The soup and Caesar salad combo was a great deal but the fried shrimps a real surprise. While normally fried shrimps are dry at AW Shucks the managed to have them inside fresh, moist. A real surprise!

While vacationing in Carmel with my wife and two kids, we found ourselves in search of a spot for a late lunch in Carmel Village. After finding two Yelp recommended restaurants closed because, apparently, 3pm is too late to serve lunch, we came across A.W. Shucks. Although they market themselves as a bar (both for oysters and drinks), they have... More

We had their Oysters Shuckafeller, which were very tasty! Also the steamed artichoke was excellent with a great sauce. You would not go there for a formal dinner and you will probably have to wait a while to get in for Sunday lunch, but it was worth the wait. We sat at the bar and the service was pleasant and... Best fish and chips as well as a great Bloody Mary. Service was perfect! The tuna melt and clam chowder gets a thumbs up from my companion

No real complaints. Price point was right for the type of food and you have to try the dozen oysters. Was there twice during the week, and would certainly return.

My husband and I popped in to experience the oysters and their famous bloody marys, both were delicious. I had a half dozen oysters on the half shell, 2 each from CT, San Francisco, and Seattle. So nice to have side-by-side comparison. I also ordered the a la carte crab cake. Absolutely amazing. Very fresh, I could actually taste the... More

This is a must if you're a fan of Oysters. They offered three different varieties, I had them all! They were as fresh as fresh can be, I had another 6! I also enjoyed a delicious cup of NE Clam Chowder along with a Moscow Mule. Worth the trip & the wait. Make reservations.

We came here for oysters and cocktails before dinner elsewhere and had an amazing experience. My gentleman friend, who's a big martini connoisseur, was really impressed with the owner's recommendation of two really exceptional gins from the bar's gin list (31 types). I had a Moscow Mule, which was great. Our fresh oyster sampler (three varieties) was exceptionally fresh and... More
