We love this place!

We regularly go to this place and love it. Great for sitting at the bar for casual drinks and the best clam chowder. Menu is limited but all is fantastic. Can watch the oysters being prepared and the Key Lime pie is a must.

We had a late lunch, so Happy Hour was all we needed instead of dinner. We were seated at the bar which allowed us to talk with one of the managers. Food was fresh and tasty and service very prompt and polite.

We were here only for one night and we decided to try Here. We were not dissapointed. There was a bit of a wait as they were very busy, but we got seats at the bar and we could see how everything was going. Everything was fantastic. it was served right off the cooker. Please try the fish cakes, really... More

We ordered champagne and the Oysters Shuckafeller and enjoyed the first 5, the 6th and last oyster just tasted wrong and I was worried after it slid down. That night I was up for most of it getting rid of that oyster. Ruined me. The cooks need to be more careful - check for smell or something before serving bad... More

A. W. Shucks is right on the corner of San Carlos and Ocean Avenues so is quite easy to find. It calls itself a cocktail and oyster bar so you know what to expect. You should first order a nice glass of their own Shuckers Ale which is a delicious drink! I started with a cup of white soup which... More

The food had no taste, very bland. We asked about the Albacore tuna sandwich, and the said, it is canned tuna. They get most of their business because of the location.

We've eaten dinner here several times and have always enjoyed it. It isn't fancy but has a good burger and very good chowder. We've also liked the fish and chips. They serve a rose chowder which is a mix of the New England and Manhattan styles of chowder. This is a bar style restaurant with high tables and counter seating.... More

Limited seating. Food was pretty good, though I would have expected a better selection of oysters. Nice and casual for a relaxing meal!

It is a nice place in a nice location. Unfortunately their idea of food is almost exclusively fried. Oysters are OK, both in price and quality. Calamari, same, fried only and of good but no more than good quality. It is good for a stopover while walking around Carmel, but it is not one of the great restaurants Carmel is... More
