Lots of diners, so it must have something going for it. I was seated immediately downstairs where it was a little quieter. The service was quick, professional, and helpful. My pork chops came out quickly, hot, and cooked properly. All looked and tasted great at a reasonable price. I will return.

I have visited lovely Carmel-by-the-Sea on a number of previous occasions but this is the first time we have stayed for (an early) dinner. It was a good experience. We had the 'soup du jour' which was if I remember correctly was oddly named 'Italian Wedding Soup' and Coconut Shrimp Soup. This was followed by grilled salmon served with roasted... More

We have tried most of the restaurants under the Carmel Preferred Restaurant Group, and Merlot Bistro lived up to our expectations. We have our favorite, but wanted to go somewhere new, and we were looking at the menu here for lunch. The host came out and told us about the specials and the "Super Bird Diner" served all day. That... More

This is a nice cozy restaurant in the middle of Carmel. The food is tasty, service is excellent, and the location is right in the middle of the Carmel shopping area, and we had a table on the windows overlooking the sidewalk. I had the Calamari steak, it was lightly breaded and buttery, and it was delicious. The sides complement... More

I was in Carmel for a couple of days and came upon this small but warm and inviting little restaurant in downtown. I had the salad with blackened shrimp. It was very good and the shrimp was seasoned perfectly. The Executive Chef, Kenneth Skinner greeted us at our table and visited with us giving us some suggestions to make our... More

Stumbled on this Cozy and comfortable restaurant in the heart of the town. Very fair prices for a tasty meal and very good service. Extensive wine list. The early bird dinner special was great quantity and quality. Sand dabs were fresh, lightly battered. Soups and salads were generous and well seasoned.

Crayons and paper to kill the minute until your drink order arrives! We were in the mood. And this restaurant didn't disappoint. Very nice restaurant without the attitude. Food and drinks were very good as was the service. Right on the main street. We had every restaurant to choose from, as we were there mid-week in September, and we were... More

We were recently in Carmel just for the day and when we were looking to eat for lunch we just happened to come across this restaurant. We decided to try their lunch specials. one pork chops with a very nice sauce and one fish special. We were both very pleased with the quality and quantity of the lunches. The service... More

I was part of a party of nine people. Each of us was treated as though we were the only person there. Very professional and very personable service. Highlights - incredible coffee; wait staff knew about Celiac and how to accommodate for it. I had the pork medallions with red cabbage and potatoes. The sauce was flavorful without overpowering the... More
