Not that much to say ... UnAdventurous menu and decor. Service not good. Forgot one starter (soup was the smallest portion I've ever seen) and had to ask for Parmesan twice. Surprising then that their suggested service charge starts at 18%! If I were to visit the town again, I would not return.

We went to Carmel just for the day and parked on the street to walk. It was Lunch time so we stopped here, as the restaurant looked nice and had mostly good reviews. Service was good, were recommended a good wine, but food was not what I expected. I ordered a mushroom pizza (no flavor at all though mushrooms were... More

We stopped in for coffee and dessert because it was one of the few cafés not overrun with people. Our visit was lovely with excellent service, hot coffee and yummy desserts. If it's not crowded, don't let that scare you. We would come back.

We were just strolling on Ocean past this restaurant after a long walk on Carmel beach. We just stopped to look at the menu and the charming waiter convinced us to come in and dine there. My wife had the coconut shrimp soup and the scallop salad with wilted spinach for main which were both delicious and I opted for... More

We had wandered by earlier in the day and it was one of the few restaurants that came out to tell us about dinner specials. So for dinner we wandered backed. We had the special of the day Paella, it was good, a few chili peppers and some parm and it was excellent!!! We also had sand dabs that were... More

Really enjoyed the meal tonight. Food was delicious and the service was attentive, without being pushy.

After a good day hiking and walking the beaches, we wanted a lighter dinner and chose this wonderful place near our Inn. It was a slow, rainy night, so attendance was sparse, but the staff was attentive and kind. Wonderful food.

We had planned on dining at a favorite restaurant. But because of too early/too late reservation times, we opted to dine for the first time at Merlot Bistro. It's a little unnerving to walk into a restaurant on a Saturday night and see the restaurant less than half full. The waitress was friendly and the dishes were satisfying yet not... More

While this is a much more casual place than its nearby sister restaurant, Portabella, the food is as good in its own way. We ordered a pizza that promised truffle oil in its topping; and when I asked if we could get just a little more of that precious elixer, our waiter brought us a small cup of it! You... More
