Ate breakfast here about a week ago because of Yelp reviews. Waited about a half hour to get in. Comfy but crowed place with a fireplace. If the weather is nice, there's also a patio. Had eggs florentine and hubby had sausage patties/eggs/pancake special. Mine came with cheddar cheese biscuit which was very good. Portions were large and coffee was... More

The blue cheese quiche is to die for. It is huge and looks like a giant piece of cheesecake. You had better be a blue cheese fanatic as every bite is infused with blue cheesy goodness. It was heavenly. Then, ss if that was not enough food they also give you soup or salad and a bread choice. I had... More

We used Trip Advisor reviews as our guide to select a breakfast place in Carmel, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Following the great tips, one of us ordered the huevos rancheros and one ordered an amazing breakfast skillet. The food was fabulous and portions were sizeable. the cheddar biscuit was amazing too. It was a cool January day,... More

I saw the ad for this quaint little resturant in a guidebook for Monterey in our hotel room. Well hidden in the Barnyard Shopping Village, this place was well worth the game of hide and seek to find it! Our table was right next to a fireplace, which on a damp January morning, we appreciated. I had the special, buckwheat... More

good luck finding this if you aren't a local, it's in the basement of a "barn" in the Barnyard shopping area behind the Carmel Mission Inn. This is a bustling place even on a cold foggy damp morning and half the seating is outside. the inside is small and cramped. We prefer a quiet corner for our breakfast, but you're... More

Yesterday a friend and I went to From Scratch for lunch. We arrived at 11:30am. It was not busy at all. We had a nice table outside and our busperson brought us water. We waited 10+ minutes; finally my friend got up and went inside to get the waiter. We ordered. The food took about 20 minutes. My Huevos Rancheros... More

We had breakfast here . From the egg dishes to the french toast everything was delightful and great coffee too. We sat out on the patio and had great service. Since I have food allergies this was a great place for me as they cook everything to order. You can get half sizes on their menu items which we wish... More

We visited From Scratch three mornings running while staying in Carmel. What a lovely place, food was fantastic it was served quickly and coffee was always kept topped up in those nice big mugs! Seemed very busy in the restaurant for the time and compared with other places in the barnyard, which makes you realise just how good and popular... More

Breakfast food was good, but expensive. Service was good, but a bit harried. A family-style, casual atmosphere.
