Description: Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

We arrived without a reservation and got a great table on the patio out back. The food was classic with local ingredients. As a vegetarian, I was limited to one entree - the lasagna - but it was delicious. Light and full of local veggies. My husband had the paella, which I was told was also delicious. Great wine, tasty... More

The Grasings has become our "go to" Carmel restaurant. Food is well prepared, well presented and the service impeccable. We love to dine outside on the patio but they have a nice inside dining area and bar. We will go back again.

My husband and I happened upon this beautiful restaurant after driving down the coast from San Francisco. Not having reservations, we were able to sit at the bar with no problem at all. We had the popcorn appetizer that was absolutely delicious! The crab cakes were perfect and the bread pudding was divine! I will surely return!

Lovely, dog-friendly patio tucked in a quiet courtyard. Friendly , but slow service. Crab, asparagus risotto appetizer was okay, turkey/ pesto sandwich was disappointing with bread too thick and hard. Red potato salad had no taste. Tropical breeze drink was good and my friend's Pinot was also but should have been for $16. Dinner might be a better choice.

My husband and I visit Carmel often, typically once a month so we like to try different restaurants on each visit. This past visit for the 4ht of July, we dined at Grasings. The menu was impressive; they had two creative vegetarian options along with a variety of other creative dishes. The wine list was fairly extensive as well. Our... More

Wife and I had dinner here. Came away stuffed and the food was top notch. We had an appetizer plate of Calamari and breaded Leeks which was done very well. She had the polenta and I had the paella - both were excellent. Staff was very attentive. We were so full we couldn't have the dessert. Couldn't ask for more.

Best Sunday brunch ever. I had the crab avocado eggs Benedict and it was to die for. My husband had the crab frittata. Both were served with potatoes and fruit. We both had mimosas and coffee and everything was perfect. Our servers were very attentive. I wish we had gone back for dinner while we were in Carmel because I'm... More

The food was over priced and tasted terrible. I had steak tacos and it tasted like the greased needed to be changed and the steak needed to be chopped into smaller pieces. I guess I'm not pose enough for that type of place.

Sat outside with our dog and had a very nice meal, with great service and good food. The menu was lovely with many choices; a large wine list--we brought our own ($25 corkage). Split the ceasar salad. My wife had steel head salmon and I had steak...mine was excellent, hers kind of dry and not much flavor. We felt the... More
