Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

Wow what a menu

The menu looked so good it was very hard to choose. Entrees were very ample portions and very tasty. I had the Sea bass cooked perfectly, others had the whole rack of lamb and the duck. Both also very good. I had the heirloom tomato salad, the tomatoes were so sweet!!! Very good service too. Would... read more

Wow. Beautiful restaurant with fabulous staff. Great food. Chatting it up with Tesia was wonderful. Learned more about Big Sur and surroundings from this local gal with huge personality.

We sat on the charming patio. Tobey and Chris took great care of us. The food was done perfectly, the best lobster my wife has had in 30 years! And for me, there was a good tequila selection in the bar.

This restaurant is expensive but, oh boy, it's worth it. The menu isn't huge but it would be hard not to find something for everyone's taste. We had Duck, Chicken and Paella and couldn't fault anything. Lots of help choosing wines we didn't know from a Very extensive wine list. Intimate without seeming noisy. A first rate recommendation from our... More

During our recent 4 day stay in Carmel, we went back to this restaurant a 2nd time. Loved the food. I am a vegetarian and chose the onion tart one time and the panini sandwich the next day with the potato salad. Both were yummy. Try the Happy Hour as well.

We were referred here by a couple at Spanish Bay who swore it would not disappoint, and they were right. We just showed up at 4:30 and made a reservation for the patio, bellied up to the bar for some wine while we waited and then the place filled up. A full house and we considered ourselves lucky as we... More

An incredible surprise. Expect the best. They won't disappoint. The waiter even carefully coached us about the proper way to request (order) water. Now I know.

Awesome bar menu (went with the truffle popcorn and cheese plate-both amazing), open late (for Carmel) or should I say stayed late because we closed the place down, great extensive wine list and mixed drinks. We will definitely be back soon, can't wait to try more of the food and cocktails.

We found this nice restaurant for a lunch while visiting Carmel. The entire lunch was excellent. The waiter was very helpful and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. It was so good that we made reservations to go back to dinner that evening.

This restaurant is way too expensive, even if the food is all right. But there is a major problem: THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!! Not even a smile from the waiter during the entire evening. If you go there you will feel unconfortable because the crew has no experience in good restaurants, whereas it is supposed to be a good restaurant.... More
