Description: Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

We were able to make a reservation here on a Saturday night for our anniversary dinner. We were seated promptly. The decor of the restaurant is inviting. The wine menu is extensive and reasonably priced. It includes local wines as well as other California and foreign wine. The menu has a wide variety. Our dinners were wonderful as well as... More

We had only been here for breakfast before and decided to try it for dinner. So glad we did. It was easily one of the best meals we have ever had. We were seated right away by a very friendly staff person. I ordered the paella with seafood over orzo pasta. Absolutely delicious and plentiful. My husband had a giant... More

As usual ended a business trip with the 17 Mile Drive into Carmel. We had been to Grasing's before and made a reservation for three. We arrived a little early (bad weather)- and even though the restaurant was fairly empty at the time -we were seated in the back room in a corner-it had been raining all day so it... More

We came to Grasing's after a recommendation from the Concierge at Pebble Beach. It did not disappoint. We had a party of six and made reservations. We arrived early so we sat in the bar and had cocktails and appetizers. We had steak for supper. Best steak we had all weekend! Great place to eat!

More expensive meal than other restaurants, but worth every single dollar, staff treated us like we were special. Our server was on top of things, the food was fabulous, the treatment was awesome. We will go back whenever we are n Carmel.

When my husband and I arrived at Grasings (with a reservation) we were seated immediately in a cozy window alcove. We had checked out the dinner menu in advance so we knew we wanted the duck. Even though my husband is very knowledgeable about wine, the list was dauntingly long--an entire book--so we asked the waiter for a suggestion. We... More

On our last day in Carmel, Halloween, it poured in Carmel. We didn't have umbrellas with us and we were soaked and starving. What a nice warm welcome we received when we got to Grasings, a white tablecloth restaurant we'd never been to before. The staff was courteous, friendly and efficient, and contributed to the enjoyment of our lunch. I... More

My husband and I stumbled upon Grasings while walking around town. We looked at a few restaurants, but were drawn back to Grasings by the atmosphere and the menu. Paula was a our waitress and she was just delightful. She introduced us to our new favorite food, abalone! The entire meal was simply delightful. The food was superb. The service... More

We've eaten at the restaurant, but our favorite part is the bar, which opened some time after the restaurant did. They have a great bar menu, and the decor is really nice. Great food! Used to really enjoy Kurt Grasing's food when he had 231 Ellsworth in San Mateo.

wow, hadn't been to Grasings before and what a surprise. Service, food, wine all very good. Best beet salad I've eaten outside Avignon. Lovely wine that the sommelier recommended. Tuna and osso buco done with an interesting twist and very delicious. Everything well plated so visually appealing. Not a cheap dinner, but you don't expect one in Carmel, either.
