Description: Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

On our recent visit to Carmel we made reservations at Grasing's. My wife had the bone-in filet, our friends had the Ribeye and Filet ...and I had the veal chop. All the food was amazing, flavorful, tender and perfectly prepared. Although many of their wines are very highly priced we found an excellent Cab for under $100. The service was... More

I was walking round Carmel with a friend and we asked a few people where to have a light interesting lunch , this was suggested by about three individual people so we thought we would try it . Service was good friendly but not great a bit slow but it was a busy week . On balance I would say... More

Went to Carmel again this year, and, of course, had to go to Grasing's - we think it's the best restaurant in Carmel. Also, the day we arrived (which was late in the afternoon) we decided to go to their bar before checking into our room and were so glad we did. Gina's cocktails and hospitality were outstanding, and the... More

During the Monterey Car Show, dining options were at a premium. We waited and were shown great courtesy. Our choices, from the bar menu were varied: mussels, crab cakes, and two orders of British-style fish and chips. All were outstanding in every respect. It was well worth the wait.

Arrive with children even with a reservation and you are seated at a table in the middle of a busy room, with a lot of foot traffic, while a 4 top by the window sits empty all night. So if you can get over the fact that you are treated a bit like a second class citizen when you come... More

My dad and I had a wonderful lunch here during car week! We shared the Blue Crab “Risotto”, Garden Salad & Chicken Club with potato salad. The risotto was amazing! The chicken club was delicious and the salad was very fresh! Wonder linch spot!!!

Stopped here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was attentive but discrete, the food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is cool, calm and restorative on a hot day of walking around Carmel. Just lovely.

We ate lunch outdoors at Grasing's on their outdoor patio. They serve very fresh food and fressh baked bread. This as an excellent place for lunch and is reasonably priced. My bowl of clam chowder was delicious and service was excellent. The staff was respectful to us even though we were dressed a little too grubby for such a nice... More

We had dinner here for an anniversary, which I had mentioned when making the reservation. When we were shown to our table there were little stars and hearts sprinkled on the cloth at our table, which was a sweet touch. The dining room is lovely and they have a full bar. The food here is very good. My husband had... More
