Description: Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

We start our Friday or Saturday night here because of the friendliness of staff, unique drink menu and the best martini around. Ira will shake and stir a round of cocktails that will leave a flavor in your palate that is unmatched. The bar menu is fantastic, especially the IRA burger or Kobe burger Definitely the best between Carmel and... More

A great place for an elegant dinner. We dined here twice recently and both times had outstanding food and top-shelf service. The dining room is cozy, i.e. tight quarters, like most restaurants in Carmel-By-The-Sea. They also have a back patio with heaters that is dog-friendly, and even in November it was warm enough to enjoy our meal. We loved the... More

A friend and I decided to dine at Grasing's after we had each been consistently referred to this restaurant. The ambience was great: not too stuffy, lively (but not noisy), great decor and a nice music selection. We were instantly greeted by the friendly hostess, manager AND owner/head chef. We sat at a pretty intimate window table, a little romantic... More

This was by far one of my favorite meals. The restaurant is small but quaint. The bar area is nice. Great wine selection. I had dinner with my hubby hear and 2 months later came with a corporate group of 26 - both times service was fabulous! Highly recommend.

If you find yourself in Carmel Ca.,for any reason, I recommend that you have a meal at Grasing's. It is a little pricey, it's Carmel after all. The food is excellent and the service was, too. I had the venison oso buco and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly. Their wine list is also outstanding.

We had a good meal in June when visiting from the UK but yesterday's experience 6 months later was a big disappointment. The grilled artichoke starter consisted of a dried up half an artichoke and a tiny amount of crab salad. The abalone was better although the portion was small. The seared tuna lacked taste and although the veal chop... More

We were able to make a reservation here on a Saturday night for our anniversary dinner. We were seated promptly. The decor of the restaurant is inviting. The wine menu is extensive and reasonably priced. It includes local wines as well as other California and foreign wine. The menu has a wide variety. Our dinners were wonderful as well as... More

We had only been here for breakfast before and decided to try it for dinner. So glad we did. It was easily one of the best meals we have ever had. We were seated right away by a very friendly staff person. I ordered the paella with seafood over orzo pasta. Absolutely delicious and plentiful. My husband had a giant... More

As usual ended a business trip with the 17 Mile Drive into Carmel. We had been to Grasing's before and made a reservation for three. We arrived a little early (bad weather)- and even though the restaurant was fairly empty at the time -we were seated in the back room in a corner-it had been raining all day so it... More

We came to Grasing's after a recommendation from the Concierge at Pebble Beach. It did not disappoint. We had a party of six and made reservations. We arrived early so we sat in the bar and had cocktails and appetizers. We had steak for supper. Best steak we had all weekend! Great place to eat!
