Description: Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

Wine connoisseurs, foodies and romantics will be delighted to dine at Grasing's. Highest quality food preparation, presentation and service. Extensive wine list. "Coastal" continental cuisine. The dore style prepared Abalone was minimally floured and lightly pan-fried to be tender and served with tomatoes. The Sea Bass and Scallops were delicious. All the vegetables seemed to be high-quality organic -- full of... More

A friend who lives in Carmel recommended that our large group of adults have dinner at Grasings. Our servers were lovely and the setting is beautiful. Things were going very well until it took over an hour to receive our entrees! The servers offered no updates on our lengthy wait for food so we had a repeatedly ask when our... More

We had a pleasant afternoon glass of wine here, so made a dinner reservation. Food was mediocre and the server was really arrogant. Would not dine there again.

A nearby gallery owner pointed us to this charming establishment for a recent lunch and we were not disappointed. Taking seats at the bar (a wonderful way to meet and mingle with customers and staff alike) we were welcomed by the friendly barkeep and soon were on our way to enjoying some of the best crab cakes in recent memory.... We happened upon this restaurant by accident while walking in Carmel. There was a very lively bar with a seperate dining room attached. We sat in the bar and talked to another couple who were also waiting for a table in the restaurant. When a table became available we decided we were having fun in the bar so we decided... More

We start our Friday or Saturday night here because of the friendliness of staff, unique drink menu and the best martini around. Ira will shake and stir a round of cocktails that will leave a flavor in your palate that is unmatched. The bar menu is fantastic, especially the IRA burger or Kobe burger Definitely the best between Carmel and... More

A great place for an elegant dinner. We dined here twice recently and both times had outstanding food and top-shelf service. The dining room is cozy, i.e. tight quarters, like most restaurants in Carmel-By-The-Sea. They also have a back patio with heaters that is dog-friendly, and even in November it was warm enough to enjoy our meal. We loved the... More

A friend and I decided to dine at Grasing's after we had each been consistently referred to this restaurant. The ambience was great: not too stuffy, lively (but not noisy), great decor and a nice music selection. We were instantly greeted by the friendly hostess, manager AND owner/head chef. We sat at a pretty intimate window table, a little romantic... More

This was by far one of my favorite meals. The restaurant is small but quaint. The bar area is nice. Great wine selection. I had dinner with my hubby hear and 2 months later came with a corporate group of 26 - both times service was fabulous! Highly recommend.

If you find yourself in Carmel Ca.,for any reason, I recommend that you have a meal at Grasing's. It is a little pricey, it's Carmel after all. The food is excellent and the service was, too. I had the venison oso buco and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly. Their wine list is also outstanding.
