Am not sure about the food but this is a great place with ambience. I had a very strange experience. I thought I was in Italy but the food was American meaning it wasn't up to par with many of the restaurants I visited in Italy. Dayboat Scallops, bisque and mixed salad were not bad but.... Felt like I was... More

By just walking down the street one could easily oversee this place. It is from the outside very small and does not look like an excellent restaurant. We had a Salad Nicoise and the daily special which was fettucini with shrimps and dried tomatoes. The quality of the food is outstanding and I would even consider the prices as very... More

This cute little spot sits next to the downtown sidewalk with tables inside and out. We chose outside as the day was warm and sunny. Tables are done nicely with white table cloths and nice silver. We had a fresh Italian salad/chicken and the home made Pate. Fresh bread was good too. Good choices on the wine list that are... More

Richard, the host, greeted us outside and was so kind. He took very good care of us. We were seated outside on a gorgeous night. The food was delicious. I had the Goat Cheese Ravioli. IF, and only if you like goat cheese, this might be a favorite (I love it, my hubby doesn't). My friend had the lamb and... More

My wife & I at Portabella on our last night in Carmel. The ambience & atmosphere is great. My wife had fish and I had Coq au Vin. Both dishes were very tasty. Portabella is centrally located in Ocean Avenue and is reasonably priced. Make sure you still have plenty of appetite if you choose tiramisu because it's huge.

Cute courtyard outdoor seating. Staff was knowledgeable & welcoming. I love sandabs & since they are local to that area, had to have them. Cooked perfectly! My son had a seafood salad that looked (& he said was) outstanding. Perfect spot for lunch in Carmel. will definitely return!

Stopped here on our way to San Fran. Parked and just happened to see this place. A beautiful place with outside seating that just begged for us to stop in. The host seated us right down with a smile and the waiter came right over. Told us about the specials and we ordered the shrimp & scallop salad, mussels in... More

Try the mixed mushrooms as an appetizer and the paella as a meal! So good! Definitely eating there again on our next trip back.

This is one of our favorites in Carmel. We love bringing our three (3!) dogs to the garden room in the back. We are always made comfortable even with the whole pack. The boys seem to appreciate that they are in a casually elegant setting so they are always on their best behavior. The food is great and the service... More

This was our 1st restaurant stop in Carmel, CA. We really enjoy the outdoor dining at this Mediterranean restaurant (none of my pictures of the outdoor dining turned out). They also have seating indoors (see my pictures). The food here was really good (I had the blackened salmon Caesar salad). The owner/manager and server were very attentive too. The prices... More
