My wife & I at Portabella on our last night in Carmel. The ambience & atmosphere is great. My wife had fish and I had Coq au Vin. Both dishes were very tasty. Portabella is centrally located in Ocean Avenue and is reasonably priced. Make sure you still have plenty of appetite if you choose tiramisu because it's huge.

Cute courtyard outdoor seating. Staff was knowledgeable & welcoming. I love sandabs & since they are local to that area, had to have them. Cooked perfectly! My son had a seafood salad that looked (& he said was) outstanding. Perfect spot for lunch in Carmel. will definitely return!

Stopped here on our way to San Fran. Parked and just happened to see this place. A beautiful place with outside seating that just begged for us to stop in. The host seated us right down with a smile and the waiter came right over. Told us about the specials and we ordered the shrimp & scallop salad, mussels in... More

Try the mixed mushrooms as an appetizer and the paella as a meal! So good! Definitely eating there again on our next trip back.

This is one of our favorites in Carmel. We love bringing our three (3!) dogs to the garden room in the back. We are always made comfortable even with the whole pack. The boys seem to appreciate that they are in a casually elegant setting so they are always on their best behavior. The food is great and the service... More

This was our 1st restaurant stop in Carmel, CA. We really enjoy the outdoor dining at this Mediterranean restaurant (none of my pictures of the outdoor dining turned out). They also have seating indoors (see my pictures). The food here was really good (I had the blackened salmon Caesar salad). The owner/manager and server were very attentive too. The prices... More

We were looking for a light lunch and found a gem. We ordered the warm chicken salad and the scallop citrus salad. The portions were generous. The walnuts from the chicken salad were sweet and savory... Candied-like. Tasty. The scallops and prawns were perfect cooked and seasoned. I would have loved to order the bisque. It looked delicious. Next visit.

Located in the heart of Carmel, the location is unbeatable. The place half empty on a very busy day (and the next door restaurant had about 1h wait), and I still wonder why, as we liked the place. The server was perfect, maybe even provided too much attention. The calzones were excellent. I recommend the crab and Gorgonzola, although they... More

This was the second time we have been to Portabella (the first time 5 years ago) and the quality and service there if anything has got even better it was excellent strongly, recommend you go there when in Carmel. Prices are very reasonable for this quality in America.
