Start your evening off with a bottle of 2012 Chalone Vineyard Chardonnay. Tasting notes: slightly sweet aroma; slightly sweet citrus flavor, yet slightly acidic on the palate. Food pairing: Porcini-Crusted Dayboat Scallops, Paella Valenciana, and Filet Mignon aux Poivres. Rating: 4.5/5 Porcini-Crusted Dayboat Scallops with Bosc pear, syrah essence, pear tomatoes, and herbed savory biscuits. The scallops are perfectly cooked... More

Had dinner here last night in this cozy little restaurant. Service was excellent. I had the salmon over risotto and it was perfect. My boyfriend had the ahi and it was also perfect. Lots of freshly baked bread, a nice wine selection from the area and good Caesars salad. To top it off we split the apple tarte with ice... More

Dropped in without reservations and we were treated very well by the staff. We were pleased with the menu choices but the food in our opinion was good but not outstanding and it needs to be to bring you back when there are so many choices here in Carmel.

Not only Portbella and the two shops next to the restaurant are the cutest buildings in downtown Carmel. food is totally delicious and wonderful too. Love their complimentary bread, served fresh, warm, and fluffy. We tried Grilled Scmapi Provencale and Angel Hair with Mussels and Rock Shrimp, both were so yummy... Try to get there early to get an patio... More

Stayed in Carmel for NYE, the Inn we stayed at recommended this place for dinner. We did not have reservations, but they sat us right away regardless. The waiter we had a very nice, the fillet mignon was cooked to perfection and the warm apple tart put the cherry on top for the awesome experience. Yes, it is a little... More

Excellent and attentive service and well done continental food. It was New Years eve and we had a child and dog with us. Many people bring their dogs to Carmel and this restaurant accommodated us very well. The food is not inventive but it is well prepared.

We had reservations for 4 indoors. Unfortunately, we were seated close to a christmas tree and the front door, which was uncomfortable with a constant draft from the door constantly being opened. The staff sensed this and rather waiting for us to ask to move, they offered to move us and our beverages to an alternate and more comfortable seating... More

We had asked them in advance if they could accommodate food allergies, and they said they could. However their idea of "accommodate" is to serve main plates without any sauce, and to remove the flavored side dishes in favor of something super bland... which meant the main dish tasted like cardboard. Additionally they served us water in dirty glasses. Their... More

A very cozy spot on Ocean Avenue, festive for Christmas. The service is attentive and the food is good. We enjoyed a delicious seafood pasta, good salad too. Would gladly return.
