Wonderful patio, great wine list

This place is hard to classify: Food is italian, wine list is French/Californian, the wonderful patio is somewhat Spanish. But eventually, it kind of works out without being cheesy. I suppose it's because food is great: delicious Spinach Gnocchis, excellent Risotto, and a friendly service on top. Wine list is world class, but you need to carefully cherry pick to... More

Oh we have been to Casanova's many times for lunch and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and innovative. This time we tried the cheese and fruit board as an appetizer and then my husband had the Croque Monsuer and I had the Risotto with wild mushrooms. Dessert was ahhhhhhh. So verrrrrryy yummmmy - my husband had... More

Excellent service except the wine was brought when my husband was in the bathroom washing his hands. After a full day at Point Lobos and looking like slobs, they seated us without a reservation. The food was excellent except they left the little tip spikes on some of the artichokes in the salad. Even with those exceptions, a solid 5... More

To start, our table, set in a quaint little room, was simply perfect. Casanova is the sister restaurant to La Bicyclette and so has the same lovely level of fab. Our server was sweet, our meals were excellent and the people watching was top notch! We had a wonderful meal here and cannot wait to return again.

To decrease the guilt from those wonderful luncheon gnocchi, off to the beach you go!This is an Intimate place for lunch or a romantic dinner. The service on visits we have made has been attentive and professional. We chose two salads, blended together on three salad plates ,which was not objected to by the staff. We followed salad with their wonderful gnocchi .Always a... More

We have been to Casanova many times. On every visit, their cocktails are fantastic, their wine list is amazing and their pastas are absolutely delicious. But their lamb dishes and their steaks have always left us completely disappointed. Their desserts and salads are average also. So my rating above is for their cocktails, wine list and pasta. I'd give them... More

Aside from a very strange seating arrangement of stuffing five people onto a table for 2 in a virtually empty restaurant, this place was lovely. We had discovered Casanova through the fabulous Carmel Food Tour (a MUST do!). Glorious Gnocchi and Canneloni, heavenly chocolate cake and tart, delicious wine. Beautiful space and attentive staff. It wasn't cheap, and wasn't meant... More

We spent two nights in Carmel, and Casanova was recommended to us by someone at our hotel. We did not have reservations, but decided to walk over and take our chances. It was a Saturday evening around 6pm, and luckily they had a table for two outside. It was a little chilly, but they turned on the heat lamps and... More

Here's the good thing about this restaurant - in Mid-March, there was not a wait to get in at 6pm. The decor was interesting and it was warm. Here's the rest of the story - the waiter was snooty, seemed to have a fake accent, never checked to see if the meal was too our liking (it wasn't). Apparently the... More

From the start, very friendly hostess seated our whole family. Waiter was polite and profesisonal and manager or owner visited our table. The portobello panini was delicious and the children enjoyed the pasta. Absolutely exquisite dècor, very French/Italian country feel. Will definitely come back.
