For many years our family has enjoyed the tradition of spending a quiet evening on New Year's Eve at Casanova Restuarant in Carmel, CA. The Casanova a jewel site in an ideal setting. The menu is a diner's delight. The service is excellent. The ambiance is simple and comforting. Prices are shocking for the price conscious. Value overall is best... More

This is a top Italian place with lovely ambience. For us, it was overshadowed by our mind-blowing dinner at Passionfish the night before. And I was personally disappointed that I'd made a big deal to tell them it was my mother's birthday...and remind the hostess as we were seated..and there was NO recognition of the event. No candle on the... More

Sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously, the spinach Gnocchi Casanova is the best I've ever had and worth the trip to Carmel in itself. I was there with 2 friends for lunch and we all loved our meals. My friends had the chicken salad and raved about it - it was not a typical chicken salad. The breadsticks and tampanade were... More

We sat outside (even though it was cool) but the heaters were on. The food and wine were great. We enjoyed visiting with other patrons of the restaurant. The service was excellent.

There is just something about Casanova, maybe the word is a it's a little eccentric. I was with a large group, we wandered back through what seems to be an add on maze of rooms to get to our space. We had about half the menu, and almost everything was outstanding. Steak tartar, seafood pasta were my favorite. Have to... More

If you are a beef fan then Casanova is for you. If however you are not the menu is very limited. We paid premium price for a so so meal that was just not worth the money. Our server was surly and not at all pleassant. There are other places in Carmel with a better selection at a more reasonable... More

This is a great place but it is expensive. Pay attention to the menu and ask questions if you don't completely understand. You may end up paying double, like us! Oops!

With a group of 8 firends.....we had lunch here. It was very good....nice selection of lunch items. Entrees we ordered ranged from mussles to seafood pasta, lunch salads and the daily special of ribs. The atmosphere is good....however the place is a little crowded. Would definitely return.

This European-style restaurant has both European ambiance and fine food to match. It's menu offers a French-Italian mix of fresh items including the popular fresh mussels. The seafood linguine was excellent and all four of us concurred that this restaurant was a notch above the others in the Carmel-Monterey area. We would visit it again without any hesitation. The only... More
