Perfect Setting but on the Tourist Route

Dog friendly front tables with attentive hostess handing out blankets when the wind started to blow. Food was excellent, fresh and served promptly. We had to ask the server twice for fresh cracked pepper but we were served quickly and efficiently. Beet salad was beautifully presented with just the... read more

Took my fiancé here and had a wonderful meal. Veal osso buco was delicious as well as gem salad and service was second to none.

Recently experienced my second visit to this restaurant and walked away feeling exactly the same. Good atmosphere and service with the food being good but not exceptional, especially considering the price. Casanova has enjoyed a very good reputation for a long time, so maybe I'm missing something. It does offer a nice old fashioned romantic feeling.

We started out with the soup and arugula salad. The breadsticks with olive and sundries tomato tapenade was delicious! Next came the beef cannelloni - wow! And oso bucco- double wow! Finished with Americano coffee and nougatine- a chocolate dessert. Wine list was massive and way overpriced though. $34 for a glass of Chardonnay? Pass. We are in wine country????

Had dinner there with friends who live in Carmel. I remember eating here years ago and thought it was ok. It's still JUST ok. The wine price is the most extensive and OVER PRICED I've seen in some time. We had a lovely A. Raffinelli ($75) Zin, which is likely the cheapest on the menu but I know and love... More

We enjoyed a wonderful Saturday night dinner with friends at Casanova while in Carmel over Memorial Day weekend. Seated right on time for our reservation and breadsticks with roasted tomato dip was brought to table immediately. Sommelier handled wine selection in a friendly, helpful manner. Table had a variety of dinner selections, with standouts including short ribs and pastas. Service... More

We loved this restaurant. Great food, great wine, fun outdoor atmosphere, definitely European. A note about the wine list-- it's over 100 pages. Many bottles are over $500. There is a sommelier on staff who would love to help you choose. I found a reasonably priced bottle of very good wine, and when he asked if could get us some... More

Just had a romantic lunch at Casanova. Were seated in the patio in a rather mild day and the température was perfect. The setting is really wonderful and you truly feel like you are in a cute little casa in the South of France. service was excellent, we were not rushed and took our time. Their french wine list is... Casanova is the most romantic place, but also one of the best food and an incredible selection of wine, the Georis Team has set the standard in town and far beyond
