Winter Weeekend

Cozy, covered back patio--perfect as the rain had just ended. Great selection of reasonable wines. Lunch items ranged from from moules and frites (good) to croquet monsieurs. But the best was the octopus salad with wonderful watermelon radishes. Staff is friendly. Funky setting and eating... read more

We went for dinner and were greeted and seated right away. Our sever was very attentive and went over menu options as well as specials. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful as they have a 96 page wine list, wow ! You like wine they have it. The food was delicious and well portioned. We ended up going back... More

We spent a couple of days in Carmel (lovely town) and were recommended to eat at Casanova. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The food was average at best and the servic wasn't great either. We chose the scallops as a starter - nice presentation but the flavours were lacking. My main course was mushroom ravioli. The ravioli was overcooked and... More

I have been here many times over the years and the food never disappoints! The quaint tables and little nooks for the tables is quite nice. We normally have great service, but this trip was only average, it could have been the timing since it was after the lunch crowd, but there was only 3 tables being served so not... More

Another outstanding evening at Casanova. Housed in a non descript entrance, the restaurant is a series of rooms that each have their own character. Food is absolutely outstanding. Service was first class. My only recommendation is to shorten the wine list!!

I realize one should expect Pretentious Pricing and Product, as another reviewer put it, and for the most part that is what one receives. Seems like all the waiters have an "authentic" accent here, and for the most part service was very polite. Their only heating system are space heaters mounted throughout so your either hot or cold depending where... More

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants. When you first approach, you turn and look around because it's an adorable old home turned into the restaurant. Walking in is like walking into your own home. Rooms are divided into seating areas, some cozier and more intimate. We have eaten here many times on special occasions which should give you... More

First of all, many thank yous to Trip Advisor (TA) contributors. This was an excellent choice and we're going back again soon! The ambiance is wonderful and the place is huge but every room is intimate. We were seated in the lower dining room and enjoyed the huge fireplace and just felt special. Guided by the TA recommendations, we shared... More

A very good environment , excelent staff and great food. We had a wonderful dinner. It is a little bit expensive but in the same range than other Carmel's top restaurants.
