Excellent service and food with a French country ambiance

Just had lunch here and was delighted with the whole experience. It is on the more expensive side for lunch but if you are up for that, it is well worth what you pay. There were three of us and we had spinach gnocchi, salmon, and seafood fettuccine The gnocchi was a light as a cloud and the... read more

We decided to cancel a previous reservation after we experienced the quaint and charming atmosphere of the Casanova Restaurant. We made a reservation earlier in the day for dinner that night when they weren't exceedingly busy. This was awesome since we were able to walk around all the rooms of the restaurant and experience all the nook and crannies. This... More

Having travelled extensively and lived abroad... We have found Belgium to have some of the most wonderful restaurants and chefs! Were very excited when planning a recent weekend getaway to find a Belgium restaurant in Carmel. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectation. My husband ordered a bone-in NY Strip with truffle butter Demi-glace. Could smell the truffle but... More

This restaurant is a disgrace. Extremely expensive food of bad quality : lamb rack with undercooked vegetables for 49$, a simple pasta with so much garlic that you can't taste anything else for 30$ - not much on the wine list under 100$

Seated without a reservation. Food was excellent and the wine was very good. Service was slow, but that was okay as we were able to enjoy our time together. Not a place to bring young children, although one was there and it was a bit of a distraction with crying.

The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The wine list was excellent. The dessert (chocolate nougate) had the best flavor. 5 stars!

As part of a tour we took of the area this was the restaurant we were taken to. We were a group of 8. Our server was excellent, friendly, informative, professional and very polite. The atmosphere is what made this place for me, it felt cozy, warm and charming. (Yes, even with a group of 8). Food was awesome, tasty... More

Fine and pleasant dining experience. We sat on the patio "beside the tree" and had fine meal (best in Carmel) of halibut and exquisite dessert of deep chocolate pie. This is the quintessential Carmel dining experience: a bit off of the main drag, haute cuisine, unbelievable wine selection, al fresco dining under a tree.
