We have gone here for 9 years with the annual car show. We usually go twice in one week. No more.. The menu has been redone for the worst.. Gnocchi used to be great, now smaller and rolled in breadcrumbs! Braised short rib is $49.00 and plain bread and butter now $5.00... A friend ordered risioto for $33.00 and received... More

We made a reservation 6 weeks in advance as we were celebrating our 40th anniversary We were placed in a hallway next to a door going into a room and on the other side of our table, stairs. We were constantly hit by the steady stream of folks coming by . The chairs in which we were seated were so... More

Went to lunch there today with two friends. While the quality of the food was good, the portion (entree, not appetizer) they brought to the male of our party was so small that if I had been the waiter I would have been very embarrassed to serve it. the place was very busy so have to allow for that, but... Great atmosphere (inside or out), great service, and overwhelmingly great dinner and dessert. I will be back the next time I am in Carmel and will bring my family and friends to enjoy this experience with me. LOVED the gnocchi! Don't miss it!

We stayed in Carmel for 5 days and ate at quite a few restaurants. Casanova was by far the best. Looks small and rustic on the outside, but it is deceptively large once you get inside with lots of rooms running behind. Décor is very nice with a real Mediterranean feel. The food was excellent and the staff was very... More

A very nice option in Carmel if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion. The setting and ambiance will make you feel very special. Take your wallet -- this place is pricey... over priced esp since they changed their menu and no longer offer the prix fixe option. Still, our go to destination if we want a mini romantic... More

For food and atmosphere, this is one of the best in Carmel. It has several rooms and two al fresco dining areas, and it is old-fashioned and quaint throughout. The service was great--kudos to Matt--and the food very good. It is much more comfortable than many other Carmel establishments, and I highly recommend it.

Winding our way down the Calif. coast, we planned to have lunch in Carmel. We read some reviews of various restaurants, decided to have Mexican for a change and promptly walked by Casanova. One could easily think that it just looks a bit too quaint and charming to have great food too. But we looked at the menu and decided... More

I've been to Casanova twice for lunch, and have loved it both times. My husband and I had read/heard about it and were looking for it and almost missed it because its unassuming front side. However, the food is heavenly and the attention is impeccable. Love eating on the back patio. We'll keep going every time we're in Carmel.

This is a true gem of a place, with a gorgeous, cottage-style patio, small in size, yet easily accommodating several tables without compromising privacy. We made our reservation in person, while on a morning walk, to secure the ideal patio table and accommodate our large puppy away from the distractions of the street & other patrons. Service was very friendly... More
