Romantic and Delicious Dinner in Lovely Carmel

Solid 4 stars -- Came here due to my hubby's colleague's recommendation. We got reservations a day prior in order to sit in the cute patio area next to the large indoor tree adorned with Christmas lights. There are heat lamps above each table, but you need to ask the wait staff to turn them on... read more

1. Treated like a number by the staff 2. Polenta was actually cold 3. Fava bean salad (NO FAVA BEANS!! Really?) VERY pushy and pretentious Somalier and WAY overpriced wine. In their defense, My Oso Buco was pretty darn good and they made it right by waiving corkage fees, my friends meal and my girlfriends salad. Certainly worth a try,... More

We were with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed our experience for lunch. We have visited Casanova in the past, but for dinner. My husband and I both chose the Two-Course Terroir Prix at $20 each. That day it included an incredible cold soup withal plea and some other ingredients, which was very good! We also had a capellini with clams... More

We chose this restaurant on the recomendation of the hotel and were disapointed. AS Carmet does not have street lights, the entrance was slightly diffiuclt to locate and initally we entered from off one ofthe main streets which was not correct. We had booked a table in advance but we were unceremoniously advised to 'go round the corner' and as... More

We celebrated our 26th anniversary here and there isn't a single thing we would change in the entire evening. Our table was one of two in a small alcove, so it was both private and quiet. The food was simply outstanding, as was the suggested wine selection for our meal. The service was also outstanding--always available if we needed something... More

Travel guides have described Casanova as "Carmel's most romantic restaurant" and I'm happy to say it largely lived up to the hype. My wife and I very much enjoyed our romantic evening here. I have a feeling that Casanova hasn't changed much in 30 or 40 years (or however long it has been around) ... and in this case, that's... More

Came here for our anniversary dinner. Had a nice table out on back patio. Food was delicious. Service was great.

Always reliable and pet friendly. I've never had a bad experience here, haven't been in a while mainly because I want to try other restaurants. Like The Tuck Box, which is wonderful for breakfast, this is typical of Carmel. Fun place to celebrate special events, like birthdays.

We wanted to have a special dinner to celebrate our anniversary last Friday night - made a reservation and then stopped by during the day to request a special table which the hostess graciously assured us she marked down and would be taken care or. When we arrived at the restaurant, a different hostess said every table was special and... More

A bit pricey but the food was well-prepared, delicious, and expertly served. Gnocchi with spinach, rack of lamb, and fettuccine with seafood were all winners. Hard to find a low-priced bottle of wine, though.
