We were staying at Hofsas Hotel up the road - their breakfast was all liquid and carbs - I knew I needed good protein to endure the drive down PCH on a Friday to Los Angeles - and I'd remembered walking past this place the night before.... It is very basic in appearance - there are a few flat screen... More

We were looking for a place to eat before church in Carmel and walked upon Friar Tuck's. A local restaurant on 5th and Dolores in Carmel. My husband had the French Toast Combo with french toast, eggs and sausage. and I had ordered an egg white omelet. My order came as a scramble, which, even though wrong was delicious. Jose,... More

We were hoping to get to Friar Tuck's early to beat the crowd. We arrived at 8:30 . . . that's the time they open! Ha! So, we were the second people to walk through the door. The owner was a hoot, he had plenty of one-liners (some would find inappropriate) but he made us laugh. I love that they... More

Maybe it's just me but I love it when the owner sits down at your table for a chat - this guy was hilarious and has such a great attitude it made my morning! Also the food was very good - I had the blueberry pancakes and my companion had an omelet that was absolutely stuffed with bacon cheese and... More

The usual bacon, eggs, toast, etc....nothing especially delicious about this place. The owner was friendly but a bit overly talkative. There are so many places that do a good breakfast...don't think I would return here.

My husband had a very large hamburger for lunch at Friar Tuck's and I had the greasiest Reuben I've ever had and would not recommend it at all. I did not find the menu to have any variety. The Cottage Restaurant has a better selection and known for their Artichoke Soup. I would return to The Cottage, but I will... More

We were walking around our hotel on 5th street, and ran into Friar Tucks, and decided to stop by for lunch on a Monday, as Tommy Wok's was closed that day. On the front of the restaurant is a picture of a woman pushing the cook, who is pushing a live cow into the store, with a notation 'when freshness... More

Others will give you the low-down on breakfast here. We had burgers for lunch. The best we've had in Carmel! Good draft beer choices to with them. The fries were crispy and hot! Great place for lunch!

I enjoyed the many different choices for breakfast. Many different varieties of Eggs Benedict including meatless with fresh spinach, and another with lean turkey for the health conscious diner. Everything we ordered was delicious !!!
