a fairly small place with the usual menu offerings for breakfast and lunch. Food was good and plentiful. What makes this place special, is the attention from the owner/cook, who takes the time to make it a personalized dining experience.

What a great first impression! I am a Monterey County local and I currently have two jobs in Carmel but not much time in between. I was looking for something new to try and this place caught my eye. I placed a order to pick up on my way to job #2. As soon as I walked in I was... More

Loved the older cafe style ambience of this place. Owner operated with very friendly service. If you are craving a Hamburger hot off the grill this is the place for you.

My husband, 5 kids and I went to Friar Tucks for breakfast and had a blast! Staff is terrific and the food is good. Good basic breakfast menu with all the family favorites. We would definitely recommend.

In Carmel for one night, had a fantastic breakfast at Friar Tuck's. First rate coffee and French toast to die for. $50 for four of us. Give it a go.........

We were staying at Hofsas Hotel up the road - their breakfast was all liquid and carbs - I knew I needed good protein to endure the drive down PCH on a Friday to Los Angeles - and I'd remembered walking past this place the night before.... It is very basic in appearance - there are a few flat screen... More

We were looking for a place to eat before church in Carmel and walked upon Friar Tuck's. A local restaurant on 5th and Dolores in Carmel. My husband had the French Toast Combo with french toast, eggs and sausage. and I had ordered an egg white omelet. My order came as a scramble, which, even though wrong was delicious. Jose,... More

We were hoping to get to Friar Tuck's early to beat the crowd. We arrived at 8:30 . . . that's the time they open! Ha! So, we were the second people to walk through the door. The owner was a hoot, he had plenty of one-liners (some would find inappropriate) but he made us laugh. I love that they... More

Maybe it's just me but I love it when the owner sits down at your table for a chat - this guy was hilarious and has such a great attitude it made my morning! Also the food was very good - I had the blueberry pancakes and my companion had an omelet that was absolutely stuffed with bacon cheese and... More
