By far the best collection of wines I have ever experienced at a wine tasting. You can tell that the owner puts a lot of time and thought behind the wines he carries. All of the wines were from small wineries with limited production. Everyone in our party enjoyed their visit. The ladies tasted the wine while the men tried... More

Carmel-by-the-Sea is a friendly small town with high-end restaurants and shops, and a lovely beach. The best of all worlds.

This charming town is one of my favorite places to visit. Parking is difficult to find, but the shops are unique, the restaurants topnotch and the hotels charming. Plan to spend a few hours at the least. Great place to stop before or after 17 Mile Drive.

Restaurants and cafes everywhere - could eat out at different place for weeks. Pine Inn great. Squares impressive eg. in front of Public Library. Clean sidewalks, easy parking, friendly shop owners. Too many dogs and dog-friendly places! No decent women's clothing stores and walked the whole town! Good wine tasting rooms - recommend Maria at Alexander Smith Wines!

So quant. We even live near a similar smaller version of this town and found it worth it. It takes you a good few days to really see all of the boutiques. The stores are so good...no commercial and many quality items. I didn't find it overly pricey to be honest. I bought a pair of shoes for the same... More

Very busy, crowded area with lots of shops. Liked the shops, found it very hard to find parking spaces.

Honeymooned here--it drips in romance. Every shop is quaint inside and draped with flowers outside. Many choices for meals, shopping, people watching.
