How did you like those apples? Quite well!

Food and wine were spectacular, service outstanding. Reservations highly recommended, but a nice relaxed atmosphere nonetheless.

We were greeted by a "not so friendly" waiter who proceeded to interrogate us on whether we were going to eat in the dining area and, if not, we should sit in the bar area! NOT a good way to invite patrons to your restaurant!! The hostess was much more accommodating. The food was less than desirable, which is actually... More

I first went to the Hog's Breath Inn nearly 20 years ago when it was still owned by Clint Eastwood and his Partners and was glad to see that it still retains its original charm and all the "Clint" memorabilia this time round. The courtyard patio is lovely with its fireplaces and little nooks to sit in but unfortunately it... More

Quaint little off-the-street niche mostly was made famous by the former mayor of Carmel (1988-1990) but Clint Eastwood and his partners sold it many years ago. His spirit lives on, however, as he watches you from his famous portrait in the bar. At the Hog's Head Post walk down the narrow alley into a flagstone courtyard which has a few... More

Sitting outside on the patio by the fireplace makes for a nice late afternoon snack or dinner. The food is fine but nothing special.

The Hog's Breath Inn was a reasonable place to stop and get a bite for lunch. The outside/patio dining area was lovely, with several fireplaces, and a nice bar tucked into one side. Waitstaff were attentive and friendly, and the food was fairly good. I had the grilled fish tacos, and my husband had prime rib sandwich. We learned Mr.... More

The butternut squash pasta dish was so tasty, absolutely delightful. We loved the ambience, the only problem was the bartender who was obviously too sick to be at work.

Passable - but not to be recommended. The service was "ok" not attentive but the food was vile! Starter was ok but the mains were nothing to write home about. My main had to be sent back as it was stone cold and inedible. When the replacement came, no one came to make sure we were happy. If we didn't... More

Getting ready for Seventeen Mile Drive, we stopped at the Hogs Breath Inn in downtown Carmel. The ambiance and décor is All Clint: wood and stone and photos from movies with a nice fireplace and a quiet patio. Cool! The burger was good, a nice salad was had and we were ready for our trip up the Coast to San... More

We enjoyed the little bar area, which is very small and quaint. Dirty Harry Burgers and fries were our food selection and they were EXCELLENT, as was the service. I don't think Clint Eastwood owns this restaurant any more, but lots of his photos are still in place. It is a cute place and we stop here every time we... More
