I love the location, but even with the sign it is hard to find. I cant tell you how many people would ask for directions. Carmel is a funny little town, no real addresses so MapQuest or GPS isn't always good to use.

It's always my one "must stop in" in Carmel. It was one of the first places I ever stopped into back in the 70's and it's always one of my first stops whenever I go back to Carmel. I really like the place. Always have. The bartender was good and the food was good as well. And, well, it's The... More

Six of us were in Carmel for a wedding and had lunch at The Hog's Breath one afternoon. The waiter was friendly and the courtyard was a nice size, tucked off of San Carlos Avenue. The food was good and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The chicken club sandwich was chosen by at least two and they were pleased. Several... More

Late Saturday light dinner. Nothing Special. Food okay, service relaxed. Glad we went to see the place as Eastwood fans. Carmel has many dining options, would consider them next time.

We were there close to closing so had the place to ourselves. They were very welcoming and made everything available to us; they could probably see our ravenous demeanor. Service was a tad slow as they were trying to close but did their best.

After a round of golf with some girlfriends, we decided to have lunch at Clint's Place -- the Hog's Breath Inn. As usual the sandwiches and pasta were yummy. The waiter was great, joking with us and making recommendations that were not disappointing. Sitting by the fireplace in the bar was a warm and cozy place to chow down after... More

More than 40 years later, a boisterous, fun bar has been morphed into upscale quietude. I was startled to return to Carmel after all this time and find this change* to an old favorite. Of course, each to his or her own. Just different now. *Calvin would say transmogrification, I suspect.

While driving from Seattle to Southern California we stopped in Carmel. This place isn't exactly near the freeway, but it was well worth the drive into Carmel. What a fun place to eat! The food and service were excellent and after such a great dining experience, we bought some shirts to help us remember our lunch. If you're over 21... More

Sitting by the fire, sipping on a good drink, in the outdoor center patio area, while the stars come out overhead.

Though Clint doesn't own this great restaurant any longer, his image is everywhere alongside the multiple hogs head kitchy decor. We arrived during happy hour and decided on a table full of discounted appetizers for our dinner. Really great food and fun atmosphere. Service was quick and restaurant fairly easy to find for us 'first time to the area'. Downtown... More
