This place rocks! We have been here a few times now. Pretty much every time we go to Carmel we go here. The fish is incredible and fresh, and flavors have been spot on and pretty much perfect. The place is in a "basement" or below some shopping stores. Its slightly hard to see/ find from the street but not... More

I have no words to describe how good the food is at this restaurant! And besides the amazing food, the staff is extremely kind, friendly and polite! I dream about going back and spending one more night having dinner at this place!

We stumbled on this excellent restaurant while staying in Carmel. The food was superb - my wife was able to order abalone - haven't seen that on the menu anywhere for years. My Ahi Tuna was prepared beautifully. The server was outstanding, making an excellent wine recommendation as well as being attentive without hovering. We were treated to a dessert... More

Dined here with some friends they picked. The restaurant is below grown level and covered in wood with individual booths. It has a private feel but as the night wore on and the restaurant filled the din became unbearable. Everyone commented on the noise level. Service was very good. We had a calamari appetizer. Deep fried squid but very light... More

Firstly, This is a very good restaurant and I love it. You should be aware however that it is a basement restaurant that can at times be claustrophobic for some. Also, since it can be rather warm in the basement you should wear clothing that will permit you to peel off a layer or two for comfort.

We have been to this restaurant twice and both times it was a great experience. The folks working there are very friendly, the food is great, and the atmostphere is comfortable and relaxing.

Thai egg rolls, VV. Almond Sea Bass on bed of pine nut infused rice,V3!! Salmon cooked to perfection!! Great decaf. This place is a KEEPER.

The Flying Fish is cozy, with lots of wood and subdued lighting. You feel like a lot is going on but have your own intimate space to enjoy the fabulous food and conversation with friends. Our group of four each ordered a different fish dish and everyone enjoyed their meal. I go to Santa Fe once a year just to... More
