This is our second visit to the Flying Fish Grill in the lovely village of Carmel, California. It is a little difficult to find, being on a side street in a courtyard and downstairs. The staff are polite and attentive, the food is great, and the Japanese-style decor is rustic and interesting, with comfortable individual booths and lots of old... More

A superb restaurant, cosy, friendly and exceptional food and we should know, we have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world! The owner was very friendly and kept checking everything was going well. The food was Japanese fusion and we loved it. What amazed us was the next day, while walking around Carmel, we bumped into the... More

Our party of four spent our last vacation evening here. The food was very good as was the service . Be sure to make reservations. The restuarant is quite tiny and it was not well ventilated. I actually felt a bit claustrophobic with the low ceiling and cramped table area. Perhaps if the AC was on, it would have been... More

Located in a basement but with nice decor. Good food but not exceptional. The only problem was trying to pay the group bill by equally dividing it up. Their system doesn't allow for a straight division of the total - rather the server must attach individual meals to each credit card! Yikes, I thought we were going to need pillows... More

On the advice of the manager at Vagabond House who made the reservation we had a fantastic experience at Flying Fish. Wait staff was very good. Food was excellent. I had the halibut and wife had the sea bass. Tuna starter was very good.

Stopped at this restaurant as having read previous reviews it sounded quite appealing. It was one of our favorites of the whole trip. Very casual, prices are reasonable for the quantity and the staff were excellent. Very helpful with choosing local wines and recommendations. ARtichoke appetizer was a little disappointing but everything else was fresh and hot. Halibut wrapped in... More

Visited this small but excellent restaurant on vacation. The food was excellent and service was first class. Highly recommended for a good meal and overall excellent experience.
