I have visited the Flying Fish twice on two separate visits to Carmel , both times i very much enjoyed the experience , the food is better than good and has unusual themed dishes and the service very friendly and professional would highly recommend a visit to anyone visiting Carmel .

After reading the reviews on trip advisor I was excited to check out this restaurant, but when we first arrived I was a little disappointed. The restaurant is on the basement floor, with a dark, laid-back interior. I guess I was expecting something a bit brighter. Regardless, the food was incredible! I had the California tower to start, and then... More

Our meals here were the best fish entrees that we had in Carmel. I savored the almond seabass and my husband enjoyed the black bean hallibut. The restaurant tables are small, intimate booths in the lower level of the Carmel Plaza, so there are no windows. Overall, I didn't think that the ambience equaled the quality of food. I thought... This restaurant was recommended to me by my hotel concierge. Walking in you can tell that you are entering a unique experience. The restaurant is small, compartmentalized, and intimate. Staff was friendly. Food was AMAZING! Clean, simple, fresh, healthy favors combined together in a unique way. Everything I enjoy in a meal and then some. Only problem is I don't... More

The California Stack - a stacked version of the California Roll, was awesome. Fresh crab, avocado and tender rice, only slivers of seaweed - great to share. The Halibut in Bean Sauce and Sea Bass in ginger sauce over a bed of mashed potatoes was to die for. We really didn't have room for the Fried Banana Split, don't miss... More

Hands down, my favorite seafood spot in Carmel. Great food and intimate ambience. I recommend the shabu-shabu- fresh veggies and raw seafood you cook to your liking in a boiling soup right at your table!

Wandered in for dinner amidst a drive from Santa Barbara to San Francisco, and lingered a long while over an outstanding meal. The menu is terrific - there are so many mouth-watering options with interesting preparations that it was seriously hard to choose - we tried the Halibut with Black Beans (really, really good - prepared in parchment and wonderfully... We loved our meal and service at Flying Fish Grill. I love the cozy, friendly atmosphere. Our waiters, Tony & Jerry were friendly, helpful and so efficient. Our food was impeccable. I had the Ahi and the preparation was amazing. We will definitely return when in the Carmel area.

Good quality seafood with Asian overtones. Good service, setting is in basement, simple, with character. Not cheap though. I was disappointed with the choice of desserts though...ended up with a sundae which was unremarkable.
