excellent bistro fare in central Carmel

Pros: central location, delicious traditional bistro food (we loved the braised short ribs and shoestring potatoes), friendly service, charming South-of-France decor. Cons: Not expensive. So that's another pro!

From all the great reviews, I was looking forward to a great meal. I had the Crepe De Veau and found it very bland tasting. My husband had a pizza, which he enjoyed and my daughter had the chicken sandwich. My husband had two glasses of wine and made the mistake of not checking out the price first. Set us... More

Very interesting continental menu and very well prepared. We have eaten here quite a few times now, and have never been disappointed. Have both indoor and outdoor dining on a nice patio. Even have a special menu for your dog in the patio!

The outdoor patio is very pleasant--there is a fountain and a fire, plus heaters for when the evening chill comes. The pizzas are exceptionally good, and almost everything on the menu is available gluten free. The outdoor dining is also dog friendly.

We had a really good positioned table at the front of the restaurant allowing us to people watch a little between courses and the window boxes we looked out on were filled with plants all in flower. The lighting inside is a little low allowing the table lamps to create a romantic atmosphere. There are a few booths too which... More

Pre-booked a lunch stop here though place quiet even on a Saturday. Surprising, as welcome and service were great, and our food choices (Salade des Artistes and Crepes de Veau) may sound pretentious, but were in fact beautifully presented and utterly delicious. Reasonably priced, too. Nice people, we were made to feel welcome. Highly recommended.

We were here for dinner during the memorial weekends, we walked in and were seated at the patio, which were a little chilly at night but it was ok with the outdoor IR heater. The food were not bad, taste of the escargots were a little too light, the duck was cook to perfection and the short ribs were not... More

We went there for a light lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we were lucky to get a table right away ! even though , she was quite busy , our smiling waitress took the time to provide us some clarification on the menu and made some recommendations . We ordered some wine and it was quicly served to us... More

Ordered onion soup, truffle mushroom ravioli, sausage pizza and they were all amazing. Sitting in the garden by fire is a must!

Restaurant patio is down a little alley, cute patio but odd seating arrangements. My husband and I were seated 6ft apart from each other on one side of a fire pit while another couple sat close together staring directly at us from the other side of fire pit. WEIRD! Service was very poor. Waiter was more interested in cell phone... More
