Great food, great service

We had lamb meatballs to share, followed by the duck prosciutto wrapped chicken and the argentinian steak with the house basil salad and and a stunning Napa sauv blanc. All was delicious - good value with very attentive service (just short of over the top!)

Our anniversary dinner, and we loved it. Up beat, not stuffy, elegant. Hidden in a little garden path off the main street so you may need to look for it.

My husband and I stopped in Carmel on a road trip and had lunch at Basil. The chicken especially was delicious, however instead of the side being offered, I asked for some tomato slices instead. At the end of the meal, we were charged about $11 for the tomatoes since it was considered a salad. We were not happy about... More

After having some disappointing meals in San Fransisco we were rewarded by a good meal. The pasta was clean teasing and well flavoured. Worth a trip

Last night was date night for my husband and I. He got the boneless shortrib (which tastes like the best melt-in-your-mouth pot roast ever) that came with mashed potatoes and I got the skirt steak with yucca fries and spinach. So delish! We ended up getting a Thai shrimp appetizer and 3 desserts! All of which were to die for!... More

This restaurant is very small, but the nice weather permitted us to sit on the outside patio. Beyond cute. I felt like I was on a move set. I had the Roasted Beet Salad to start...and then the Thai BBQ Braised Beef. Both were super yummy. Lemoncello Cheesecake for dessert, huge slice, totally shareable. The staff was SOOOO nice. It... We had a tough time in California finding a safe place for our daughter to eat due to her life threatening peanut allergy. It seems that Californians like to put peanut in many things including pesto which traditionally is made with pine nuts. We enquiried at a couple of other resturants in Carmel and each time left because we were... More

The service, while very friendly (and the bus boy very attentive to keep refilling our water glasses!) was a bit slow (waited a long time for him to return to take a drink order, even though he said he would knowing we were waiting for our sons to walk to the restaurant). We may be jaded, as we are spoiled... More
