My wife and I ate her for lunch after walking around Carmel. The food and wine were great and being able to sit outside added a European feel to the meal. I would definitely eat here again.

Delicious meal at this cozy restaurant. Fresh tasty salad with baby artichoke. Pasta cooked just right. The olallaberry pie was perfect and you should get a couple of them if it's on the menu when you go. Basil deserves its ranking as one of the best spots for dinner in Carmel.

My husband and I made reservations here for our first night in Carmel. We had just driven down Highway 1 from SF and had a long day, so we were looking for a place to relax and we got it! We were able to snag a seat outside in the courtyard and the weather was fantastic. We paid the corkage... More

Basil Carmel delivers seasonal foods in delicious ways, but lacks a certain pizazz. My boyfriend and I came off the Big Sur trails and thankfully were let in without having to change. The waiter, however, treated us differently because of our dress (forgetting our forks, slow to take our order even though we were literally the only people there). For... More

Went with 3 others, their food was great, one even asked for some bread to wipe the great sauce from the plate. My Salmon was over cooked and we did not get the customary "how is everything" a few minutes after the food was served. However when the table was cleared we were asked how was everything and I said... More

Family of 4. Everyone was happy with what they had - gnocchi & braised beef (me), steak & pasta w/ calamari (sons) & salmon (wife). But no one thought it was anything unusual or special. The pasta w/ calamari was good -- but I've done the same thing at home, & I'm no star. They were out of cobbler at... More

Make a reservation as this restaurant is small. It's tucked away in the courtyard across from Ron's Liquor store so look for it. Service is chipper without being pretentious. I had the squid ink pasta. It was divine. Food and service and wine was very good and I highly recommend dinner here. I believe they are open for lunch too... More

I'm a loyal TA traveller. So while in Carmel, we dined at the # 1 and # 2 TA rated restaurants. We had the best meal at Basil Seasonal Dining in Carmel and not only was our Salmon and Sea Bass cooked to perfection- I mean PERFECTION, but the service was very personal. I wish I would have asked the... More

First night in town. We didn't have reservations. Our first stop had no interest in fitting us in (which we understand). But, when we showed up here with no reservation and immediately saw the small, full restaurant we assumed we were out of luck. Wrong. The wonderful waitress (blonde, I can't remember her name unfortunately) was SO accomodating and welcoming-... More
