Like most, we just wandered in on one of our Carmel visits. Next time we will make it a destination stop. Small and cozy, but nice. I tried the pulled pork sliders (2) that filled the bill and my tummy too. My wife enjoyed the grilled peach salad, delicious but the peaches didn't look like they had seen a grill.... More

We really enjoyed our dinner at Basil; however, during most of our meal the restaurant blared 80s jazz. It was a mix of elevator music and infomercial. Otherwise, thumbs up!

My DH and I dined at Basil in May during a respite from Cooking for Solutions at The MBA. Over the 4th of July weekend I dined there for lunch with a girl friend. As always, Basil delivers on food quality, innovation, and customer service. My friend enjoyed the asparagus ravioli and I enjoyed my squid ink and calamari pasta.... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant purely by chance. After taking a slow and leisurely drive through the Seventeen Miles Drive, some of us was grumpy and restless. We decided to stop in Carmel for lunch and some wise person (not me) took the action and made an executive decision to stop here for lunch based on her yelp app. We... More

My wife and I visited here recently Carmel. On our first night we dined here. We sat outside and they had thoughtfully provided blankets for the cool evening. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My wife started with the Abalone which was tasty and interesting. I started with the gnocchi which was also well made. Unfortunately now... It was too beautiful a night to even consider eating indoors. Lovely outdoor patio, food exceptionally good. My husband tried the soup of the day, which he loved, I tried the excellent pate and, frankly, ate it all - could not bear to leave a tiny bit behind. We had been dining around Carmel all evening, next time, we stop... More

Happened onto this restaurant while exploring Carmel last August. Sat outside for drinks and lunch. Food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating. Recommend!!!

Let me explain . . . when I made our reservation for lunch for 10, they wanted to make sure we wouldn't be too loud because their establishment was rather small. They let me know that they usually seat a large group outside, but since it was rather blustery and chilly, indoors it would be. I must confess, this was... More

If you're coming to Carmel for a vacation - be sure to stop by Basil. Their food is always fresh and new and their cocktails are to die for! It's an intimate venue so be sure to call ahead for a reservation. And yes I'm still thinking about the lamb....

We had dinner on a Friday, made the reservation earlier that day. The service was extremely friendly, almost too enthusiastic. The food was more on the classic side with the tastes, really good but nothing really new. The ingredients were local and fresh. The drink menu was more playful with herbs (of course basil, but others as well) etc.
