Fresh food artfully prepared at good prices-great meal at Basil-what else can I say? I could drink the pesto they serve with the bread-it's that fresh-

charming little restaurant tucked away off the main thoroughfare. the "schtick" is sustainable/local cuisine. There's indoor and outdoor seating...we ate outside - lovely! The food was fine...nothing over the top. I had the salad w/figs and topped it with beef...tasty. The wine selection is decent. Overall a nice dinner experience.

... but once you get there, you are glad you did... the service is outstanding (very attentive especially when they saw us shivering from the evening chill and brought us blankets)... solid menu... and small enough to enjoy the atmosphere...

We went here for a late dinner and were seated right away. We had my 8-month old daughter with us and they were accommodating about a child, especially late, which was nice. The food was delicious and fairly reasonable. They have some small plates on the menu as well which is always a nice option. We sat outside in the... More

Like most, we just wandered in on one of our Carmel visits. Next time we will make it a destination stop. Small and cozy, but nice. I tried the pulled pork sliders (2) that filled the bill and my tummy too. My wife enjoyed the grilled peach salad, delicious but the peaches didn't look like they had seen a grill.... More

We really enjoyed our dinner at Basil; however, during most of our meal the restaurant blared 80s jazz. It was a mix of elevator music and infomercial. Otherwise, thumbs up!

My DH and I dined at Basil in May during a respite from Cooking for Solutions at The MBA. Over the 4th of July weekend I dined there for lunch with a girl friend. As always, Basil delivers on food quality, innovation, and customer service. My friend enjoyed the asparagus ravioli and I enjoyed my squid ink and calamari pasta.... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant purely by chance. After taking a slow and leisurely drive through the Seventeen Miles Drive, some of us was grumpy and restless. We decided to stop in Carmel for lunch and some wise person (not me) took the action and made an executive decision to stop here for lunch based on her yelp app. We... More

My wife and I visited here recently Carmel. On our first night we dined here. We sat outside and they had thoughtfully provided blankets for the cool evening. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My wife started with the Abalone which was tasty and interesting. I started with the gnocchi which was also well made. Unfortunately now... It was too beautiful a night to even consider eating indoors. Lovely outdoor patio, food exceptionally good. My husband tried the soup of the day, which he loved, I tried the excellent pate and, frankly, ate it all - could not bear to leave a tiny bit behind. We had been dining around Carmel all evening, next time, we stop... More
