Carmel Belle offers an extensive selection of fresh foods prepared pretty much the way you want it. We had poached eggs with sausage; poached eggs with Hobbs bacon; and coffee that rivaled any we found in Italy for flavor and no bitter taste. The hot chocolate was rich and flavorful. We came back a couple days later and had the... More

Our party of 5 ate breakfast here this morning. We live nearby and visit Carmel-by-the-sea frequently. The food was quite good, with fresh ingredients (advertised organic, local) prepared with unusual, delicious combinations. We had poached eggs with asparagus, grilled tomatoes and garlic sautéed mushrooms, perfectly cooked; polenta with poached egg and cheese; steel cut oatmeal. The restaurant is in the... More

As a local this is one of our favorite spots for lunch and we always bring our out of town guests here for lunch. The meatloaf sandwich and home made catsup are amazing!

While the food was faultless, there was a slightly precious atmosphere which was a bit annoying. Jam was 50 cents extra and had to be ordered through the chef, which meant your toast got cold while waiting (this is assuming one is foolish enough not to ask for it at the same time as placing the order for toast). But... More

It is a little expensive (maybe not for Carmel), however the food was great and was very unique. Perfectly Californian. Oh and they are very dog friendly.

My husband and I dined here thanks to the great reviews on TripAdvisor. And, no doubt about it, the food is very tasty. We very much appreciated the selection of salads, soups and sandwiches and that many offerings were made with local and/or organic products. However, we were very disappointed with the portion sizes given the price we paid. My... More

Carmel Belle is in the Doud Arcade, a little hard to find the first time, but totally worth your time to find it. The food is fresh, gourmet ingredients, and the people are warm and friendly every time we visit. I especially love the chicken salad. It is a must on your list of restaurants!!

Yummy! I ate breakfast there three times and it was consistently great. They offer some healthy choices (some uncommonly good things that you can't find any old place). Their polenta is really good and the eggs, asparagus and truffled mushrooms are great. Their staff are cheerful and very helpful if you don't know what to order. It's a bit hard... More
