Best Food and Service in Carmel

We had a party of 9 for our Grand Slam Dinner including a line up of wines to Die for Screaming Eagle, Schrader, Dalle Valle Harlan Bond... The staff was excellent, preparation exquisite, and food superb. Can't say enough about the top restaurants in Carmel;

The food is good but not great. I have been going to this restaurant for a while and it used to be excellent, but it seems it has gone downhill over the past year. Recently I went there for dinner and it wasn't busy, yet I ordered a bottle of wine and before the wine came, the appetizers were delivered... More

It was a close walk to our hotel and everything was wonderful! The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was great! Then there was desert.....Awesome! The wine list was significant! The servers were friendly and they enjoyed what they were doing. We will definitely go there again.

We ate at the restaurant last November, and had great food, but a so-so wine recommendation. Our meal was still memorable, and we returned for another dinner last night. The food was, as before, excellent, and the wine recommendation this time was stunningly good. I started with one of my "always order anywhere" favorites: French Onion soup, and it was... More

Very nice ambience for a quiet night out, slightly spoiled by a very loud woman at the next table who had had a wine or two too many! We had the Halibut with basil & the Pacific sea bass with lime & thyme served on tagliatelli accompanied by baby veg: carrots, courgettes, fennel. The entrees were excellent, the sauces flavoursome,... More

We just enjoyed our second trip to Carmel this year and we sought out this restaurant because we loved it so much the first time. The manager, Stephan, spent a lot of time with us describing the food, helping to select the wine, and generally making us feel welcome. I had the mushroom soup and my husband had the pate... More

The wife and I were in Carmel for a wedding anniversary and we had spent several days seeing the sites, eating great food, and playing fantastic golf courses in the area. It was our last night and we were a little apprehensive about trying something new, for fear that we might have a bad experience. After much deliberation, we selected... More

We wanted to eat at a French restaurant and chose Andre's over some other choices and we were glad we did. The ambiance is wonderful and the service was perfect. I ordered a steak which came cooked exactly as I had ordered it -- rare. The only complaint we would have is that the wine list is VERY expensive. I... More

We ate at Andrea's several years ago and loved it so wanted to return when we came back to Carmel. This time we were somewhat disappointed. The food was good but not great: we both had the sweetbreads (which we love) and I felt that while the mushroom saue was excellent, it was not necessary to bread the sweetbreads as... More

Excellent french restaurant fairly priced, although expensive. Creative menu and nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Very few moderately priced wines (under $40).
