I stayed in Carmel for two days and was adviced to make a reservation at Andre´s. As a lone traveller I ended up at the bar, the room was crowded. And being a rather reserved North European I do get a bit stressed when I have total strangers at my elbows, but the excellent food, wine and service soon made... More

We had dinner at Andre's on Thanksgiving day. Andre's as all restaurants on this "American holiday" paid homage to the turkey. On this special day, Andre's had a prix fixe menu with 3 choices for the first course, 3 for the second and 2 for dessert. My husband had the stuffed mussels, the turkey with chestnut dressing and a cheese... More

We debated whether to have out anniversary dinner here after reading the recent reviews of this restaurant. However, we decided to make reservations after enjoying the delicious aromas that came from the kitchen while we read the menu in the street. We were not disappointed. Our meal was delicious. I ordered one of the nightly specials, a rack of veal,... More

We celebrated my wife's birthday here this week. We both thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. Although it is a bit on the expensive side, the service and the ambiance make it quite special. We had the special mushroom starter with artichoke heart and mushroom soup for starters - both to die for. Main courses included a sea bass and scallops in... More

Was visiting Carmel and had made reservations thru open table for this restaurant. Service was efficient and we were shown our table. Though there was only 3 service staff working that night we were promptly served. The cold tomato soup which my wife had was yummy but the mushroom soup I had was just so-so compared to Joel Palmer house... More

We visited on a Sunday evening and were surprised so few tables were taken. Had read comments about the sommelier's manner and can see how that could upset, but his knowledge is extensive and we were delighted with the (similar priced) wine he recommended as an alternative to our original thought - Emeritus Pinot noir. Veal and scallops were sensational... More

We were surprisingly only 3 tables with customers for lunch. The vegetarian pasta and the rib-eye were both absolutely delicious and they have really good bread. Waiting staff was friendly. It felt like a real French bistro. Very reasonable for what you get.

Elegant restaurant with attentive and knowledgeable service. Reservation handled well, reception warm and efficient. Wine list is extensive but expensive. The food was delicious, well prepared and tastefully presented. We have been to Andres' on an earlier visit and will return. Highly recommended.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel that we were staying in. All started well, good atmosphere and menu lovely. The wine list is a book and to be honest intimidating. We both enjoy our wine but do not profess to be experts on the subject, so we chose a £40 bottle of red. The wine waiter came over... More

Andre's is definitely one of the finest places to eat in Carmel. The special was an exquisite fig sauce over a beautifully cooked duck breast elegantly plated. The other entree at the table was scallops with fettuccine. The scallops tasted great and were perfectly prepared. The fettuccine were cooked perfectly so that they were still just a little al dente... More
