Christophers Food is sophisticated yet unpretentious. A Real Class act, without the act.

When in Carmel I NEVER miss the opportunity to dine at Christophers place. Whether its his christophers risotto, Duck or any Need in between, he has you covered. The portions are big but the price is not.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal and fantastic service at this restaurant on 5/1/11. We had walked by the restaurant several times during our visit and finally decided we needed to give it a try. My husband had cream of mushroom soup, smoked salmon and his meal was the rack of lamb...all dishes were beautifully presented and savored. I chose the beef... More

My husband and I had a delicious meal and lovely evening at Christopher's. The staff was efficient and welcoming, dishes were creatively prepared, and the decor was tasteful, not to mention the large window viewing out onto the Pacific Ocean! We took advantage of the special advertised in the local paper - $49.95 dinner for two including a bottle of... More

This place came highly recommended by the staff at the inn where we stayed, but the fare was far from commendable. The atmosphere was anachronistc, akin to a 70s living room. The food was bland and tasteless - I ordered the seafood linguini and could simply not eat it, which rarely happens to me. When the waiter took the plate... More

My wife and I were passing through Carmel on vacation and looking for a nice meal. This place hit the spot. It was a slow Sunday night and the service was outstanding, which should be easy. The meal itself was great. I had lamb shank with polenta that was amazing. My wife had a great halibet dish. Overall we had... More

My third visit to Christopher's and by far my best all around experience. A nice varietyof options in the starters and entrees. The starters were especially good. The chanterelles over creamy polenta was fabulous - the best polenta I've ever had; the squash ravioli special - excellent; the tequila & lime house-cured salmon was equally good. The Cornmeal Crusted Idaho... More

While in Carmel for our 19th anniversary my husband and our dogs stumbled upon this restaurant. We decided to check it our since it had outdoor seating which is a requirment when traveling with our dogs. It was a bit cool outside and they do not have heaters but the menu sounded good, and the employees were very friendly. We... More

Quiet place with an adequate menu and wine list. The salmon was super and the chef was very accommodating to my gluten allergy.

Sometimes in Carmel, you feel like a fish out of water. Case in point, Christopher's. We had arrived in Carmel after a long day of sightseeing up the PCH and got into Carmel around 5:30 on a Tuesday. As tourists -- which is a big part of the Carmel economy -- we didn't think we would need to make reservations... More

If your tastebuds want a REAL TREAT, go to Christopher's!!! We wanted to see if our trip 3 years ago was a wonderful accident or if Christopher's is really that good. If anything it was better than we remembered it!! Every course was an absolute explosion of perfectly proportioned tastes. What we couldn't understand is how few diners there were!... More
